🌈 A ROOM FULL OF WONDER… WHAT ACTUALLY IS LITTLE SENSES? 🌈
If you’ve spotted our new Little Senses Baby Workshop and wondered “but what do we actually DO?”… here’s your little guide 👶💜
For one hour, The Cowshed will be transformed into 5 different sensory areas, each designed to help your baby discover their world through SEEING, HEARING, TOUCHING, SMELLING and TASTING.
You’ll move freely around the stations with your baby, spending around 10 minutes exploring each one no sitting still, no pressure and absolutely no need for baby to “perform”! You simply follow what catches their attention. ✨
👂 HEAR – Let’s make some noise!
Shake, bang, ring and rattle a whole collection of different musical instruments and sounds. Babies learn to recognise changes in pitch, rhythm and volume while developing listening, attention and early communication skills. 🎶🥁🪇
👀 SEE – A world to look at!
Lights, bubbles, mirrors, colours, scarves and visually exciting objects for little eyes to discover. Watching, tracking and reaching for objects helps develop visual attention, focus and hand-eye coordination. 🫧🌈✨
✋ TOUCH – How does THAT feel?
Soft, fluffy, smooth, rough, crinkly, cool, silky… babies will explore lots of different textures using their hands, feet and whole bodies. Touch supports body awareness, coordination and sensory development. 🪶🧸🤲
👃 SMELL – Follow your little nose!
We’ll explore gentle natural smells using things like fresh herbs, mint, citrus and cinnamon. New smells encourage curiosity and help babies begin discovering that the world around them is full of different scents. 🍋🌿🍊
👅 TASTE – Sweet or sour?! (6 months+)
Babies who have started solids can safely explore tiny tastes and different flavours including sweet and sour. Expect some VERY good faces! 😂🍓🍋
👶 Under 6 months?
Absolutely! Our littlest babies will explore 4 age-appropriate senses, with no tasting involved. 💜
💜 Perfect if you want a pressure-free baby class!
There’s no sitting in a circle, no keeping up with everyone else and no worrying if your baby needs fed, changed, cuddled or simply wants to do their own thing.
