We want to celebrate the little wins too. The dancer who walks through the door even when they’re nervous. The skill that finally clicks after months of trying. The friendships, confidence, resilience and joy that grow along the way.

Not every success comes with a trophy, and that’s okay. 🩰

So this year, there’s no pressure to come back bigger or better.

Come back YOU.

Come ready to learn, grow, try again and enjoy the journey.

Because if you leave the studio feeling a little happier, prouder and more confident than when you arrived…

This year’s 𝐀𝐢𝐭𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 goes to the beautiful Florence! 💖✨

Florence came to us as an extremely shy girl, quietly finding her feet while carrying a huge love for dance. Over time, we watched her confidence grow little by little - and then came our Sleigh the Stage competition! 🎄✨

Not only did she step onto the stage and dance, but she SANG too! 🎤💃 The teachers were absolutely blown away. To see this once-shy girl stand up in front of everyone and perform with such confidence was a truly special moment.

Since then, Florence has continued to catch our teachers’ eyes, showing us more and more of her true self - a beautiful soul with so much to give. ❤️

We couldn’t be prouder of how far you have come! Your journey is a wonderful reminder that confidence can grow quietly, and when it shines, it is truly something special. ✨

💗 Your Child’s First Day at Dance 🩰✨

The first day of dance can look different for every child. They may cry, cling to you, watch from the side or refuse to join in and that’s completely okay!

Their first class is about feeling safe, experiencing something new and building confidence.

👀 Watching is learning.
Some children watch for several classes before joining in. They’re taking everything in and getting comfortable at their own pace.

🌱 Every child is different.
Try not to compare your little dancer with others. Each child develops confidence and skills in their own time.

💕 Trust the teacher.
For independent classes, children need the chance to build a relationship with their teacher. If parents stay in the studio, children naturally look to them for reassurance instead.

🚪 Please don’t enter the studio if your child is upset.
We know this can be difficult! ❤️ But allowing the teacher to comfort and support them gives your child the opportunity to build trust and settle independently. Often, children settle much quicker once their parent is out of sight.

🌟 Stay positive.
A cheerful “Have fun! I’ll see you after class!” can make a huge difference. Try not to put pressure on your child to join in straight away.

⏰ Arrive around 10 minutes early.
This gives your child time to settle, find their space and meet their teacher.

And most importantly… give them time. ❤️

The first class or even the first few may not go as expected. Your little dancer might surprise you by suddenly joining in on their second, fifth or tenth class!

Every child blooms in their own time. 🌸

Trust the teacher. Trust the process. Trust your child. 💗🩰✨

The Helix

We're excited to announce that we're looking for enthusiastic Classroom Pupil Helpers to join our Tuesday team!

Time: Tuesdays, 3:45pm–4:30pm

This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and gain experience supporting our younger dancers.

Responsibilities include:
* Encouraging and supporting our younger pupils during class.
* Assisting teachers with show choreography and rehearsal preparation.
* Helping to demonstrate exercises and routines.
* Escorting children to and from the toilets when required.
* Handing out, collecting, and tidying away props and equipment.
* Preparing the studio before class and helping tidy up afterwards.
* Taking the class register.
* Helping children line up, settle into class, and stay focused.
* Being a positive role model and creating a fun, welcoming environment.
* Supporting teachers with any other age-appropriate classroom tasks as needed.

Who can apply?
�We're looking for pupils who are:
* Aged 10 years or over.
* Enthusiastic and reliable.
* Confident and happy to get involved.
* Kind, patient, and great with younger children.
* Responsible and able to follow instructions.
* Excellent role models who represent AJ positively both in and out of class.
