A very successful day for Central at the 76th UTA Dan Grading on Saturday 3rd Oct. There were 17 candidates from the club taking the dan grading under the UTA Grading Panel, led by Grandmaster Tong Wan Shin 9th Dan.
Nine Central members were promoted to black belt. Congratulations to Hazel, Una, Keira, Raheema, Logan, Ethan, Harris, Nina and Jainabee.
Niamh, Beth and Sammy were promoted to 2nd Dan. Katie, Zack, Tommy and Alan became 3rd Dan Black Belt and Abbie received her 4th Dan. Well done on the fantastic achievement guys. It was a tough and thorough grading but all your hard work paid off 👏👏👏

Natasha and Peter had a fantastic experience training at the Kukkiwon on Monday. The GB Team had pictures taken with The Kukkiwon President and the British Taekwondo CEO, and another with the world famous Kukkiwon Demo Team, who were training alongside the team throughout the day.
The competition kicks off today (Wed). Natasha competes in the U30 Female Teams. The match number is 328 (Court 3 - Match 28). It will be on about 5am-ish UK time.

After a 26 hour journey Natasha and Peter have arrived in Korea with the GB Team. The team will be preparing over the next few days, with the World Championships starting next Weds (16th). Natasha competes in the U30 Team category, whilst Peter is in the U17 Team on the final day, Saturday 20th. We wish the whole team the very best of luck.
Meanwhile Paula has done a fantastic job this week coaching the GB Universities Team over in Albania and will be bringing a wealth of experience back to the club. Well done, Paula.

Courtesy of our club funds, Central Academy hosted an Extreme Taekwondo Seminar with Master Lim Ga Ram from the Kyung Hee University Demonstration Team in Korea. It was very informative and great fun! All who attended had a great experience. Thank you to Master Mark (Spike) Russell for bringing Master Lim to Scotland.

Exciting news regarding Central Academy Coach Paula Smyth. Paula has been selected as a GB University Team Coach and will be traveling with the National University Team to the European University Taekwondo Championships, which will be held in Tirana, Albania from 9th to 12th September. Congratulations to Paula, a fantastic opportunity and a well deserved achievement. 👏👏👏

Congratulations to Hazel and Una who competed recently in open poomsae championships in Taiwan and Hong Kong. They achieved a 3rd place in Taiwan and 2nd place in Hong Kong. Well done girls, flying the flag for Central! Fantastic achievement👏👏👏
