Exciting news regarding Central Academy Coach Paula Smyth. Paula has been selected as a GB University Team Coach and will be traveling with the National University Team to the European University Taekwondo Championships, which will be held in Tirana, Albania from 9th to 12th September. Congratulations to Paula, a fantastic opportunity and a well deserved achievement. 👏👏👏

Congratulations to Hazel and Una who competed recently in open poomsae championships in Taiwan and Hong Kong. They achieved a 3rd place in Taiwan and 2nd place in Hong Kong. Well done girls, flying the flag for Central! Fantastic achievement👏👏👏

Good luck to Ethan who is currently on a 3 month trial with the National Poomsae squad.

We're delighted to welcome the newest athletes selected as a three-month trial for the British Taekwondo GB Poomsae Performance Team.

After impressing at Regional Poomsae Training sessions, these talented young athletes have earned the opportunity to train in our high-performance environment as they begin the next stage of their development.

Over the coming months, they'll train alongside members of our GB Performance Squad, learning from our High Performance Coaching Team and taking another step along the pathway to representing Great Britain on the international stage.

Congratulations to Central's poomsae stars Natasha Wilson and Peter Sellwood, who have been selected to represent the UK at the World Poomsae Championships in Chuncheon, Korea in September. Natasha is in the U30F Team and Peter in the JM Team. Their hard work and dedication paying off. We wish them the best of luck with their preparations for this massive event. 👊

What a fantastic weekend of taekwondo we had to celebrate the launch of GM Bailey’s book “Finding the Force”. A massive thank you to GM Shin, GM Glen, Master Mike McKenzie and Master Jorn Andersen for conducting a superb training session - the feedback from everyone who attended was tremendous. Another big thank you to everyone who attended the Book Launch on Saturday evening, especially to the Grandmasters and Masters who travelled so far to be there. Your support is greatly appreciated. And last but by no means least, to all the people who have donated so far, thank you so much. GM Bailey had hoped to reach the initial target of £2,000 at some point but to get there in one day is testament to the generosity of the taekwondo family. The book is available at all Central Taekwondo classes and GM Bailey will have some copies with him at this weekend’s National Poomsae Squad training in Manchester. The book is being used as a fund-raiser for Alzheimer’s Scotland and is available to anyone who wishes to read it - there are a limited number of copies, so if you are able to share, it would double the number of potential donations. There is a QR Code on the back cover which can be used to access the JustGiving page where donations can be made. Please keep the donations coming in and help toward finding a cure for a condition which affects so many people. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

British Taekwondo Poomsae Performance Camps give our members the chance to experience elite level training across the UK, with sessions in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland over the next two weeks.

Manchester and Lisburn will play host this weekend, while Grand Master David Bailey is set to have a stellar cast joining him in Falkirk on Sunday 21st June.

With a number of international guests set to be stepping foot onto the mats at the Carronshore Community Centre, it's definitely one not to be missed!
