Care Visions Fostering Scotland are a Scottish-owned, not-for-profit fostering service. The family is never just one thing.

There are as many ways 'to family' as there are 'to live' and every family we meet has the potential to inspire young lives.

Karen has been fostering with Care Visions for over 6 years, but her journey towards fostering began long before that.

Having spent much of her life supporting young people, including years involved in running a youth group, Karen had thought about fostering for a long time. She took her time, did her research and went into it knowing that it would bring challenges, as well as some very special moments.

For Karen, one of the biggest things she has learned is just how different every young personโ€™s experiences and needs can be. She talks honestly about the importance of stability, love and nurturing, but also about the support around foster carers when things are difficult.

And perhaps most of all, she reflects on the difference fostering has made to her own life.

โ€œI just think of what their lives could have been without foster care. I think it would have been completely different.โ€

๐Ÿ’œ โ€œI can pick up the phone twice, three times, as many times as needed.โ€

For foster carers, having the right support around you can make all the difference, especially when things are difficult.

In this video, Wendy talks about the support she and her family have received from Care Visionsโ€™ Therapeutic Family Workers and the on-call team. Over the years, she has built a strong relationship with one particular member of the team, someone the children know and trust too.

That continuity, alongside being able to reach out for advice and support when things become challenging, has been an important part of Wendyโ€™s fostering journey. ๐Ÿ’œ

โœจ A fantastic way to round off Day 5 of the SPARK Project Roadshow in Fife.

In today's reflection video, Lee and Geoff look back on a day full of creativity, curiosity and new connections.

Leading our Ready, Steady, Glow sessions, Lee shares how encouraging it was to see so many young people getting involved, including a fantastic turnout from boys exploring skincare, confidence and creativity. It was also heartwarming to see friendships continue to grow, with some familiar faces returning to another Roadshow. ๐Ÿ’œ

Geoff, who was involved in the Outrageous Ambitions stop-motion animation workshop, reflects on watching young people bring ideas to life. One participant, in particular, made the activity completely his own.

Across every activity, the curiosity, imagination and willingness to try something new made for a brilliant day, and we're excited for what comes next as the SPARK Project continues.

๐ŸŒง๏ธโžก๏ธ๐Ÿ“ Two days on the road, two Care Visions clusters, and plenty of creativity along the way!

In today's video, Ben, who is leading our Outrageous Ambitions taster sessions, reflects in rhyme on Day 4 of The SPARK Project Roadshow after our visit to a Care Visions summer event in a beautiful country park. Despite the rain, young people got hands-on with Ready, Steady, Glow and Outrageous Ambitions, embracing opportunities to get creative.

From imaginative aliens and monsters to completely unique creations, it was brilliant to see so many ideas come to life ๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿ‘พโœจ

Ben then looks ahead to Day 5 as the Roadshow moved across to Fife to connect with another Care Visions cluster. The team is excited to introduce a new group of young people to the SPARK Project, while also welcoming back some familiar faces who have already joined us at previous sessions.

Reflections from this day to come soon...

The SPARK Project is about helping young people discover new interests, build confidence, develop skills and create positive connections through fun, hands-on experiences.

๐Ÿ’› Day three of The SPARK Project Roadshow took us to the Care Visions Fun Day in Stenhousemuir.

For Sharon and Lee, the day's biggest takeaway was all about connection.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share more about The SPARK Project with children, young people, carers and colleagues from across Care Visions, while also connecting with friends from Falkirk Council and the organisations who helped make the day a success.

One exciting highlight was welcoming a new member of our upcoming gaming sessions, who spent time meeting young people and carers ahead of the launch of this new activity ๐ŸŽฎ

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Care Visions Fun Day and helped make it brilliant. We can't wait to share more from the event and our SPARK Project Roadshow. โšก

๐Ÿ’› What a day we had on Sunday! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our 2026 Fun Day was a fantastic celebration, bringing together children, young people, foster families, residential teams and support services for a day full of fun, laughter and memories. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying what the day had to offer.

It was lovely for Care Visions Residential, Care Visions Fostering and our Support Services to come together as one, with the involvement and support from so many wonderful organisations. It was also great to welcome members of the local community who joined us and helped make the day even more special.

๐Ÿ“ธ We're now busy sorting through all the photos and videos from the day and can't wait to share more with you over the coming days. Including an update on how much was raised for Cash for Kids Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife & Falkirk.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy and support to help make the event a success.

๐ŸŒŸ Special thanks to: Police Scotland and Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service, The Why Not? Trust for Care Experienced Young People, The Village Scotland, Who Cares? Scotland, Skills Development Scotland (My World of Work), The RAF, Rainbow Twisters, JP's Inflatables, Stenhousemuir FC

And finally, the biggest thank you goes to all the children and young people, both connected with Care Visions and from the wider community, who came along with so much enthusiasm, laughter and energy. Seeing everyone trying new activities, making memories and simply enjoying themselves together is exactly what the day was all about. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’› Reflections from day two of The SPARK Project Roadshow...

Sometimes the best moments aren't planned...

For Lee and Lynsey, one of the highlights was seeing those who had already taken part come back wanting to help.

From unloading equipment and setting up the stand to welcoming others and getting involved with makeup, glitter tattoos and other creative activities, it was wonderful to see young people growing in confidence and sharing that with others.

More roadshow stops are still to come, and we look forward to sharing more stories โšก
