Today Falkirk Council Executive Committee gave the Management Committee a 20 year lease to continue the great work we do keeping the community centre open.
Just over 7 years ago, it was threatened with closure if a community asset transfer wasn’t applied for. Over the past few years, the committee have put a lot of hard work into the business plan and application. We have more hard work going forward to complete the legal contract and to have sustainable energy and running repairs. With the help of the community and more volunteers, we WILL make this work.
Thank you to our service users and local councillors for their support. A huge thank you go to CVS Falkirk, Jessica Paterson and to FC Strategic Property Team. Their professionalism, guidance and assistance through the whole journey as been really appreciated. Finally to our team at the centre who give up hours and hours of their own time every week to keep the centre running. Making sure the bills are paid and finances are kept in order, to reviewing policies and procedures and ensuring all contracts and maintenance checks are up to date, day to day cleaning, gardening, and general up keep. There is so much work that isn’t often seen. Their time and commitment and attention is hugely appreciated. Without their willingness to take on these responsibilities, keeping the centre running wouldn’t be possible.
