Caterpillars and Butterflies are ready to start the new term with ‘Dear Zoo’ ; we are so excited to see where the learning, playing and engagement will go and develop throughout the two rooms.

Butterflies enjoyed reading the book today, pretending to be the animals and measuring how they are, so far all the butterflies are measuring similar to monkeys 🙊🐒

Caterpillars have also enjoyed the book, made a train to visit the zoo, listened to the animal sounds and cleaned the animals after they got really mucky today.

We wonder if your child can te tell you the story, and tell you all about their favourite animal?

Caterpillars’ summer holidays… you’ve been a vibe! ☀️💛
See you next year! 🐛✨

Next week, our Caterpillars will be starting our new story, Dear Zoo! 🦁🐘🐒📚

Our Butterflies will also be exploring the same story, and we are so excited to see how two different age groups explore, learn and develop their ideas from the same book in their own unique ways.

It will be lovely to see where their interests take them, how their play develops and all the different learning opportunities that come from it.

We can’t wait to share both rooms’ Dear Zoo adventures with you over the coming weeks! 🐍🦒🐸🐶

🌞What a fantastic summer we've had filled with COLOUR, CREATIVITY, AND LOTS OF MESSY FUN!🎨 We've enjoyed music, science, animals, messy play, getting creative with all sorts of materials, trips to the park for football, splashing around in the paddling pool and so much more!
🎶 🧪🦒 🌈 ⚽️ 💦

It's been a summer full of laughter, exploring, experimenting and making lots of wonderful memories toqether. ❤️

GOOD LUCK to all our children starting school!✏️ we're so proud of you and know you're all amazing! And to all our other children returning to school, we hope you have a fantastic new school year.🎒

Now it's time for the Butterfly Room to get ready for a brand-new term, with plenty more fun, learning, creativity and adventures ahead!

Our staff would like to say a massive thank you for all of the wonderful gifts we have received, they are very much appreciated.
Wishing all our children off to school the most amazing time, now go shine like the little stars you are ⭐️ and hopefully we will still see lots of you.

Wow what a fun packed summer the Sunflowers 🌻 have had!

✔️We have celebrated birthdays by making cakes 🎂 and playing with balloons 🎈
✔️Been out for little trips to the allotment to see the chickens 🐔 and what was growing and to the garden centre to see the fish 🐟
✔️Emptied and filled pots, used scoops, sieves and funnels to move edible sand
✔️Explored lemons 🍋, limes and splashed💦 in our 'lemonade' water tray
✔️Used our hands to squish summer fruits in a sensory bag 🫐
✔️ Done mark making with dabbers, chalks, paint and crayons 🖍
✔️Made their own fish cakes for tea 🐟🥔, they were yummy! 😋 we all tried them.
✔️Have practiced their physical development on the soft play and new little climbing frame and slide 🛝 as well as pushing themselves along on the ride on toys 🛴🚲
✔️Enjoyed lots of interactions whilst looking at books in our snug 📚
✔️Spent lots of time in the garden playing in the toy house, water play, mud kitchen and climbing on the climbing frame as well as helping to plant and look after the strawberries 🍓 and other plants we have growing.
✔️ They have even tried blackberries and tomatoes 🍅 that we have grown in the garden
✔️Did lots of pouring with the tea pot 🫖, making 'cups of tea' ☕️ in the water tray
✔️ Used their hands 🤚 to squish and feel kinetic sand and gloupy sand
✔️Made lots of marks using ice paints 🧊🖌 and normal paint 🎨 to make wonderful pictures
✔️ Investigated foam and water to make potions
✔️ Started to welcome in some new friends 👶

This week we hope to make and decorate a big cardboard boat.
It's been so busy!

We now look forward to settling in our new babies and getting to know them and their families.
We will be concentrating on settling and personal, social and emotional development by moving our room around to have snuggly areas, our book nook where we will be reading lots of stories together, lots of rhymes and singing, emotion cards to look at, looking through their learning stories together and much more.

🌊🎨 What a fantastic couple of weeks at Holiday Club! 🎨🌊

We’ve had so much fun getting stuck into water and messy play! 💦🫧 The children have been busy creating, experimenting and getting wonderfully messy! 😍

We’ve made 🪼 jellyfish, played with slime, built boats from pool noodles 🚤, created a fun fishing game using pipe cleaners 🎣 and enjoyed lots of painting, including beautiful watercolour fish pictures. 🐠🎨

There’s been plenty of exploring, imagination, creativity and, of course, lots of fun along the way! 💙

But we’re not finished yet… 👀🔬
Next week is SCIENCE WEEK! 🧪🧫✨

We’ve got lots of exciting experiments planned and we can’t wait to see what the children discover! 🥼🔍

Holiday club have had a fabulous morning foraging for blackberries, learning about how they grow and how we know each one is ready to be picked 🌲 We even made a big blackberry cake this afternoon and are enjoying it for our snack, yum yum!😋🍰

Another busy week in Holiday Club. The children have been exploring all about colours.

We used coloured pasta to make necklaces. 🌈
We made playdough rainbows. 🌈
Ice painting pictures using coloured ice.🌈
Chalk painting all around the garden.🌈
Not forgetting all the lovely tye-dye creations the children made.🌈

Next week we are getting messy, its messy week!!!! 😀
