Every student receives a personalised programme tailored to their individual needs, interests and goals. Alongside academic learning, we make time for the things that genuinely interest our students, helping to keep sessions engaging and meaningful.

By adapting every session to the individual, we help our students to develop a positive relationship with learning 🌞

What’s in our Mentors’ bags?! 😃📚

We ensure that all of our mentors are fully equipped to support their students whilst out on session.

This means that our mentors carry a wide range of learning resources and equipment, a basic first aid kit, and a laptop with access to all of our digital learning platforms and educational tools used across Esteem 💻

With no two sessions the same, being prepared is essential. Whether supporting a student in a library, a community setting, a workspace or elsewhere, our mentors have the resources they need to adapt to each student’s needs and make the most of every session 💫

Life skills in action ✨

Learning doesn’t only happen at a desk. Many of our sessions focus on developing the practical skills young people need for everyday life, helping them build confidence in real-world situations 🌎

Activities such as budgeting, interacting in the community and making informed choices. We help students navigate everyday situations, both now and in the future.

Mental health can be explored in many different ways on sessions, including through creative activities that encourage discussion and build awareness 🧠🌱

At Esteem Educators, we make a conscious effort to incorporate wellbeing-focused activities into sessions where appropriate. Building an understanding of mental health can help students recognise the importance of self-care, identify healthy coping strategies and develop more knowledge on how to support themselves🌞

Some students find mainstream classrooms overwhelming and difficult to engage with due to factors such as class sizes, busy environments or the pace of lessons.

Our 1:1 mentoring programme provides each student with a personalised approach centred around how they learn best, in an environment that they feel most comfortable in.

With fewer distractions, a more flexible approach and support delivered at a pace suited to the young person, students feel ready to engage with education again 💫

Sessions can look very different depending on the young person and what works best for them.

For some students, incorporating exercise and fitness into mentoring sessions can help improve engagement and provide a positive outlet alongside education 🏃🏻

Building confidence often starts with finding approaches that feel achievable and realistic for the individual.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that looking after mental wellbeing does not always have to start with big changes.

Sometimes it’s about slowing down, checking in with yourself, creating healthier routines or knowing when to reach out for support 🍃

At Esteem Educators, we recognise how closely wellbeing and learning are connected. Feeling safe, supported and understood can make a real difference to a young person’s ability to engage, build confidence and make progress.
