🍂 October Moments 🍂

The Summer of Sport supported the SBC Active Communities team to provide additional, accessible sport and physical activity opportunities for children and young people during the summer holidays, with a particular focus on removing barriers and helping more families access opportunities within their local communities.

Not only did the Summer of Sport provide hundreds of accessible opportunities, it also demonstrated the importance of local, affordable and well-supported provision. Crucially, feedback suggests the programme did more than keep children and young people active during the holidays, it encouraged them to participate beyond the summer.

Going forward, Summer of Sport (Game On) grants are still open to support local sports clubs to reduce barriers to access and to increase membership and participation.
