A lovely day for our annual primary athletics event. Year 1&2 in the morning and Yr 3-6 in the afternoon. Our event used to be teams of 8 for “Quadkids” and then someone asked if they could bring more participants ….. now we’re holding events with over 700 participants! Hats off to our Thomas Mills PE Department and leaders for overseeing matters with warmth, expertise and understanding….. they truly made it a special day!

Our county finals for orienteering at u11 and u14 are always great fun, led by Suffolk Orienteering Club. Great Moulton were victors at u11 and Newmarket won the u14 event to see the Forest Heath SSP area of the county sit proudly at the top.

With the recent government announcement to a new “PE and School Sport Partnerships Network” in January 2027, the annual summit felt like it had an added importance this year. Much to deliberate, much still unknown but lots to be positive about with the incoming changes! Timing isn’t perfect but it’s what we make of it now! Control the controllables, know your why and just do it! I have seen a lot since i started this journey in 2004, from becoming a sports college and sport partnership to the cold hearted cuts to school sport partnerships in 2010 and the rise of the School Games network over the last 15 years. We’ve got this 🥳💪❤️

The weather held off 🌞 for our annual 🎾 event for the primary schools. 38 leaders, 180 year 1&2, 60 year 3&4, 80 year 5&6 and a tonne of School Games Values medals!! Thanks to for hosting.
