All children from Reception to Year 6 will be offered a free nasal flu vaccine in school on 11th September 2026. This is a quick and painless vaccine but we can only give your child their dose if we receive consent by 9am on the 10th September.

Help us to select our new School Vision!
The image attached shows our current school vision, which are looking to replace.

Last term we invited staff, parents, governors and children to take part in a survey to review our school vision and consider whether it continues to reflect the ethos and values of our school community. After carefully considering the feedback we received, we identified the key themes that emerged and have used these to develop three possible new school vision statements.

We would be grateful if you would complete our quick survey to let us know things like how you currently travel to school, to help us identify opportunities to improve road safety, reduce congestion, encourage active travel, and ensure that travel arrangements are accessible and inclusive for all families.

The new section of Dinan Way is planned to be open from 9th September. A series of traffic measures are being put in place from 9th September until 4th December – they will be in place 24/7 during this period so they may disrupt your journeys to and from school.

The affected areas are:

Road closed: The A376 from Courtlands Cross to the new A376 Dinan way Roundabout will be closed.

Footway closed: From 24th August – 4th December on the A376 from Pitts Farm Junction to the CourtJands Lane/Summer Lane Junction - Taxi service to be provided from Saddlers Inn car park to Ascona Courtlands service station.

Road closure: From Courtlands Cross to The Saddlers. This is to facilitate surfacing of the road to tie the new link road into the existing A376 on the northside. The road will be closed 7th – 9th September 2026 (nights only 19:00 - 06:00).

We are also aware that National Grid have a closure forecast from 26th August to 16th September on Pound Lane (at the Hulham Road Junction). This is due to emergency works and separate to those planned by Devon County Council.

Diversion Measures:

Traffic will be diverted via Dinan Way Link Road, Hulham Road roundabout, and then
along Hulham Road where it meets the A376 again.

There will be no through traffic from Pound Lane onto Hulham Road

One-Way Measures:

Featherbed Lane will become one way only with traffic flowing in the eastbound direction towards Hulham Rd.

We apologise for the hiccup with our school emails and website - we're pleased to let you know that everything is back in working order!

It seems a few families have not received the class photos.
I have been around the school and made sure teachers hand out any they have left today! There were quite a few left in the Y6 building, including sibling photos, so hopefully everyone will have theirs by the end of the day.

!Road Closed!
There seems to be unplanned work being carried out by South West Water. The road at Pound Lane end is currently fully closed.
A quick check of their website doesn't give us more information at the moment, but 'roadworks radar' says it's live until 24th July.
To reach the school you will need to approach via the ECC/Phear Park end of Withycombe Village Road, or park the other side of the closure and walk down.
