Good luck to all students receiving their GCSE results this week! 🍀
We know results day brings a whole mix of emotions. While it’s a moment to celebrate hard work, it can also feel overwhelming or stressful- especially if things don't go strictly to plan, or if your educational journey looks a little different from the traditional route.
Remember, exam results are just one step along the way, not the final destination. There are so many paths to success, and your potential isn't defined by a set of grades on a page.
To everyone waiting on results, and to the families and educators supporting them we are wishing you all the very best for whatever exciting step comes next! 🌟✨

Our founder, Kelly, has been working hard behind the scenes over the past couple of years… Lining up a clear vision to ensure families are able to navigate their children’s personal development and educational journeys, ensuring impact, action and speedy support!

Kelly has been pulling together an exceptional multidisciplinary team and launching Live to Learn Integrated Assessments; offering neuroaffirming and whole-child multiple assessments and consultation services for local families.

Last night it was announced that Live to Learn Integrated Assessments is a finalist in the Exmouth Business Awards, for Start Up Business of 2026.

This is so lovely to hear, as many will know that Kelly puts blood, sweat and tears into the support she offers, to ensure better outcomes for young people 💚

Fingers crossed for Live to Learn Integrated 🤞Assessments

What’s the real problem? 🤔

Last night David Reed MP held a SEN Workshop at Exmouth Community College, seeking to gather views regarding SEN young people and the current provision / mechanisms / opportunities / failures in East Devon.

I thought it was only fair to summarise the workshop for those who weren’t able to attend, and to be inclusive by sharing that David Reed MP has requested that parents / families / professionals who are able to share positives and negatives about the SEN system in Devon, email his team so that he can accurately represent SEN parents in East Devon, within parliament. His email address is as follows: [email protected], and his contact number is 01395 493213.

I am planning to request a 1:1 follow up with David Reed MP to ensure he is aware of the bigger picture, and the two fundamental key changes that are required at Government level, if there is any hope for our SEN young people.

It’s time to take a stand and create a movement at this time of Government ‘shuffle around’, and ensure we are aiming high enough to truly make a difference;

1. We need to change the National Curriculum that governs our education system; it is outdated, non-inclusive, rigid and does not cater for SEN successfully. It is overly relied upon as the pinnacle of education and inspection - forcing schools to be non-inclusive for many of those with SEN

2. We need to ensure that Local Authorities are held to account consistently for breaking the law, they need to be penalised when they break the law, to prevent legislative breaches happening on a daily basis

3. We need to ensure that the Government doesn’t think that inclusion is about the physical space that a young person attends, but is about being included, fairly, within the education system. Being inclusive, does not mean all children should attend mainstream schools, inclusion means providing equal opportunities to education that works for the individual child - taking their aspirations and desires into account - whether they have SEN on not. I am not sure where the idea of ‘inclusion = attending mainstream school’ comes from?

All other mechanisms that seek to reform SEN education will not have a long-standing impact, they all seek to make SEN young people fit into a broken and outdated system, which is full of illegal activity.

👆🏻THIS IS WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE 👆🏻

If your child receives Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS), or you think they may need it in the future, there's an important Government consultation currently taking place.

We've already seen lots of headlines, opinions and social media posts, and we know it can feel overwhelming.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be breaking the consultation down into plain English, explaining:
• What the proposals actually say
• What isn't changing
• What could change in the future
• What the consultation means for families
• How you can have your say before it closes on 18 September 2026.

Our aim isn't to tell you what to think.
It's to help you understand the proposals, so you can make an informed decision and submit your own views with confidence.

If you're an EOTAS family, make sure you're following along.
Questions are always welcome in the comments.
