New DfE Guidance on Exclusions… 🤔

23/05/2026

🚨 SEND families in Exmouth & East Devon — this is your chance to be heard. 🚨

The Government is bringing forward major reforms to the SEND system, and these changes will directly affect children, parents, schools, and support services across our community.

David Reed MP is holding a SEND Town Hall on Thursday 23 July at 6pm, and every parent, carer, educator, and advocate who has experienced the realities of the SEND system needs to attend.

Too often, families are left fighting for support, battling long waits, inadequate provision, and systems that simply don’t work. If we want real change, decision-makers need to hear directly from the people living this every day.

Whether your experience has been positive, frustrating, heartbreaking, or inspiring — your voice matters.

Please share this with every SEND family, school, AP setting, SENCO, and professional in Exmouth & East Devon.

If you are not able to attend, we would be happy to take letters / speeches forward on behalf of families - email them to [email protected]

We cannot afford for our community to stay silent while SEND reform is being shaped. 💙

⭐️ Some lovely feedback shared today ⭐️

“Thank you for all your support at this crucial time - he has really, really enjoyed all your input and teaching and care, we wouldn't be where we are without you - you're all brilliant!”

What a wonderful message to receive from one of our exam student’s parents.

We are much more than just teachers delivering a curriculum to exam specifications, and we love helping young people thrive! 💚 🍃

🍃 We would like to wish all of our young people the very best of luck in their upcoming exams🍃

You’ve all worked incredibly hard and we know you will be trying your absolute best - and what more can anyone ask!? 💚

This is one of the many stepping stones to your bright futures ✨

It is also really important to note that there are many, many pathways and routes to your future, and we want to ensure that we are recognising that exams aren’t for everyone, and that grades alone do not define your brilliance 🎉
