And here I find myself at the end of the adventure of Exe-plorers Childcare. We waved our goodbyes but really they are just a see you soon! So happy to have made great friends with you all and know that we will all still stay in touch. An emotional week with lots of lovely words and gifts which I am truely grateful for. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Childminder over and out 👋

Time is rapidly running out until I close Exe-plorers doors for good, with only one more working week to go 😢 This means I will be left with a heck of a lot of stuff that my big children will have no use for and so we are going to hold a driveway sale. My daughter Evie will also have a cake stall to help her raise funds for her trip to Uganda in February so any support for this is also welcome!

Happy Fathers Day to all those important figures in our lives. I hope all the families enjoyed their rock buns! The children loved making them for you!

… but everything happens for a reason 💛

I write this with a little bit of sadness but a full heart knowing that it is the right thing to do for me and my family. From September 2025, Exe-plorers will be closing its doors and I will no longer be offering childminding services.

There have been many factors that have ultimately led to this decision both professionally and personally, but there is one stand out reason. I want my children to have the best version of me and right now, this isn’t happening. And that is not OK.

Being a childminder is the most rewarding job I have been lucky enough to have. To be trusted with someone else’s child, to watch them grow and develop and know that you have played a part in that, is really special. Children become part of my family when they walk through the door each morning. The relationships we form with both children and their families are like no other work relationships. It is truly unique and I have treasured this opportunity.

After 17 years of giving all of myself to children and their families across varying roles, it is time I focused on giving the best of me to the ones who need me the most, and that is my family. I’ve come to realise that children need you even more when they get older as they navigate becoming mini adults!

I will be completely stepping away from early years education, which will take me a while to adjust to, and throwing myself slowly into a new project and industry that I am so passionate about (more on this to come!) This break will allow me to be more focused on wellbeing, more present for my family and be the best version of myself.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for being so supportive and understanding with this decision. It really has made this an easier path to navigate knowing that people support you and understand your reasoning. So thank you!

But for now….it’s business as usual! I’m looking forward to spending the last summer making memories with my little friends as we finish our journey together 💛

🎅🏻 Santa Claus is comin’ to town… and he came a little early to make sure he could squeeze in a visit to us at Eve-plorers! Rumour has it he’s also making a return visit next week to make sure all the Exe-plorers get their present! What a Gem! 💎

This has become a yearly tradition for us and one that the children will hopefully remember for years to come!

📣 STILL AVAILABLE! 📣

🧡This doesn’t happen often but I’m excited to say that we have a very rare space available to welcome a new Exe-plorer to our Wednesday gang!

Wednesday’s are THE best day of the week as we also have our very own Robot Reg session jess_robotreg with Georgia's CUBS Childcare which the children absolutely love! We also love to be out and about in our local community, embracing everything we have on our doorstep!

This space would suit a child 2 years plus who is a confident walker. It is an all day space for a minimum of 8 booked hours.

Please enquire with any questions via messages or feel free to contact me via email or phone. Details can be found on my account page.

Happy Exe-ploring! 👧🏼👦🏾👶🏼
