🌟 A busy and positive week in Year 3!🌟

The children are settling brilliantly into their new routines and have been working hard across the curriculum.
This week, we’ve started our new English unit, explored place value to 1,000 in Maths, enjoyed The Wild Robot in Guided Reading, and got stuck into fitness and teamwork in PE with Premier Sports.

It’s been wonderful to see the children sharing their ideas, building new skills and working so well together. What a fantastic start to Year 3! 💙

A reminder to all parents and carers that the designated parking area on Crannaford Lane by the level crossing must be kept clear at all times.

Network Rail have contacted us to inform us that this area is specifically provided for HGVs and other long, low or slow-moving vehicles which need to stop and contact the signal box before crossing the railway. If the area is blocked, these vehicles may be forced to wait on the road, causing congestion and potentially creating a serious safety risk around the level crossing.

We appreciate that school pick-up can be busy, but please do not use this area to park or wait for children, even for a short time.

Thank you for helping us to keep the area safe for everyone. 🙏

Congratulations to both Isaac and Autumn Moore who competed in the British BMX Championships in Manchester over the August Bank Holiday weekend. They both entered the race off the back of two high national rankings. Isaac ranking 7th and Autumn ranking 2nd nationally.

The British BMX Championships this year saw the biggest number of riders ever, where almost 1600 riders competed across the two days.
Both Isaac and Autumn battled hard all-day showing skill, determination and drive to both get into the final.

Isaac was strong going into the final and came away with 7th after getting caught up and touching wheels with the European number 1 pushing him down the pack of riders.

Autumn, as the commentator put it "Had the gate of her life" and dominated the race over all the other riders. She held first position all the way to the line being crowned "British Champion".

What an achievement!!

🌟 What a fantastic first week for our Reception children! 🌟

It has been a real joy to see our youngest pupils settling into life at CEC. They have been amazing as they’ve explored their new classrooms, outdoor spaces and the wider campus, while learning all about their new routines.

From making ice creams in the sand and creating potions in the mud kitchen, to building dens, making playdough biscuits, exploring colour mixing and enjoying imaginative role play, there has been lots of fun, creativity and discovery! 🏡🎨🧁

Next week brings the start of phonics and lots more exciting learning. We can’t wait to see what they get up to!
