Our sessions will start running on the week of the 21st of February. We currently have two sessions a week, Wednesday & Thursday around 3-4pm!

Term 1 Update:

Sadly, due to inability to gain Guild DBS so far, we have had to say that this project will not be running the Autumn term. This is out of our, and the wider society's. control and a problem with how the society is permitted to operate by the Guild.

We apologise to all our volunteers and all those that were interested. We are hoping that the DBS system will be up and running come Spring term. We will be sure to update here once we believe we will be operating come Spring!

Quick 2021-22 update!

We are currently in the works to get started post-October half-term with two weekly sessions (one at each of the two schools we are working with this year). These will be in person sessions.

❗❗ ESV Mentoring For Success 2021/22 ❗❗

We would just like to update everyone that we are planning on running this project again this academic year! We are hoping for either an October, or most likely post-October half-term start time, so plenty of time to get involved!

Please message the page if you are interested in joining - this project does require a DBS check, but there are Guild services that should support acquiring this.

The project focuses around having sit-down chats with small groups of students once a week in a local school to discuss topics relevant to them and the world around them.
We seek to increase their awareness of important issues and to promote their critical thinking and peer-discussion skills.

This project is a way to engage with your local Exeter community, help up and coming generations, and looks great on your CV!

Please come along and volunteer for another great year!

❗❗ GUILD DBS CHECKS SHOULD NOW BE AVAILABLE ❗❗

The Guild has emailed me that their desk (in the Forum building complex) should now be open and running the DBS check system.

If you need a DBS check, you can now go there and get one!

We are volunteering for at least another month or two, with room to keep going into Summer proper (July) if we have the numbers, so there is plenty of time and space to get onto the rota!

Go and get your DBS if you want to volunteer!

Hey everyone!

Just to say, we are continuing the project into term three 2021!

We have started successfully running sessions and there are still spaces for people to join, with hopes to expand sessions further.

To join this project just DM the page! We will add you to our Group-chat! You will then need to have completed the EVS First Steps training and to have secured a DBS check.

ESV nominations are open!

Hey everyone!

This is just to announce that we now have a concrete date of starting our volunteering sessions (virtually) on March 10th! We will then run weekly every Wednesday, starting directly after school.

We are organising a meeting for volunteers tomorrow (Friday 5th) morning at 10am to go over details.

For this project you will require a DBS check, though the school we are currently working with has offered that they can run some if needed.

We are excited to kick off the new year by announcing that we have recruited a new Co-Project Leader, Elliot Gibbons! Elliot will join Dayaanan in making sure that Mentoring for Success provides an enriching experience to both volunteers (mentors) and mentees.

We sent an email before Christmas to all volunteers, outlining our plans for the term ahead - if you did not receive this email, please let message us to let us know.
