So proud of my school community today. We took possession of our new school hall just yesterday and today, just one day later, a party of staff, parents and pupils stayed until late to create our new library space. What a huge achievement and what a tribute to the spirit of the school and the community around it. Kenton Primary: We Get Knocked Down But We Get Up Again. ;-)

Great work everyone. Quite apart from the fundraising - and let's all hope that that goes like a bomb! - it has been just beautiful to see the children enjoying their reading so much over the week and, especially, seeing our eldest children having a ball sharing stories with the youngest.

Sleep is everything for health. Mobile phones rob all of us of sleep. This impacts particularly on young people whose rapidly developing brains need sleep most of all.

From Professor Jonathan Haidt, social psychologist:

“The team from Screenagers recently launched the campaign to fight back against the youth sleep crisis.

The research is clear:

Devices at bedtime steal kids’ sleep.
📈51% of teens get less than 7 hours of sleep most nights
📈36% wake at least once during the night to check notifications

Just having a device in the bedroom makes kids 2.3x more likely to feel tired during the next day, leaving them unfocused at school and at higher risk for physical and mental health struggles.
