A huge thank you to all the businesses and employers who supported us by hosting one of our students for Work Experience this year.
We know welcoming a young person into your workplace takes time, planning and commitment, and we really appreciate everything you've done to give our students such valuable experiences.
If you receive the Unifrog Employer Review, we'd be grateful if you could complete it! Your feedback helps our students reflect and grow.
We're already looking ahead to Work Experience 2027 (19β22 July). If you'd be happy to host another student, or if you'd like to support us with a careers talk or Year 10 Mock Interview Day, we'd love to hear from you - [email protected]
Thank you once again for making such a positive difference to our students' futures. π

Today we say a heartfelt farewell to an incredible member of the St James family, Mrs Thornton, who is retiring after 18 wonderful years of teaching at St James.
Joining us in 2008, Mrs Thornton has been so much more than a teacher. She has inspired, nurtured and supported countless children throughout her time with us, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students and their families.
As well as her dedication in the classroom, Mrs Thornton has been instrumental in leading our Outdoor Education programme, creating unforgettable experiences, adventures and lifelong memories for so many of our children. We have been incredibly fortunate to benefit from her passion, enthusiasm and commitment over the years.
Mrs Thornton, thank you for everything you have given to St James. You will always be a treasured part of our school community.
We wish you every happiness and many exciting adventures in your retirement. You have truly earned it! ππ

π 2025β2026 School Year Completed! π
And what a fantastic year it has been for St James!
We are incredibly proud of every one of our students and staff for all they have achieved throughout the year. Today, we came together one final time in our whole school celebration assembly to recognise the many amazing things we have accomplished this term.
We celebrated our Subject Award Winners alongside our Values Award Winners, honouring students who embody our school values of Kindness, Equity for All, Community, and Diversity.
Our students were welcomed into the hall by the wonderfully talented Alex, who entertained everyone with beautiful piano music. The celebrations then got off to a fantastic start as our staff band, Pace and Purpose, opened the show with an energetic performance.
A huge thank you to our entire school community for making this such a memorable year. We wish all of our families a safe, happy, and well deserved summer break. We can't wait to see what the 2026β2027 school year will bring welcoming our new Year 7 school community! ππ

Belgium Trip β Day 3 Update! π§πͺ
Today our students had a fantastic day exploring Newfoundland Park and visiting the Thiepval Memorial. It was a meaningful opportunity to learn more about the history of the First World War, reflect on the sacrifices made, and deepen their understanding of the events that shaped the region.
A memorable day of learning, reflection, and shared experiences. πβ¨
