Great tips on looking after yourself in the heat ⬇️🌞

An amber heat-health warning has been issued for this part of the UK by the UKHSA from today, until 21:00 on Sunday 12 July, with temperatures expected to rise.

There are lots of tips on their website including:

• Make sure you stay hydrated
• Apply suncream
• Wear light and loose-fitting clothing
• Avoid going out in the sun during the hottest part of the day

If you’re going for a swim be aware of Cold Water Shock – you can find out more about that and other safety advice on the RNLI’s website. Limit drinking alcohol as it can lead to dehydration and don’t drink alcohol when near the sea or other waterways.

If you’re taking medication, check whether it needs to be stored in a cool place and whether the heat might have an impact.

If you have vulnerable friends or loved ones, it’s a good idea to check on them regularly.
