DEVON IMPROV, ACTING & COMEDY - Classes and performances | Meetup **GROW YOUR CONFIDENCE! HAVE FUN!**If you are interested in improvisation, acting, comedy or public speaking, you are welcome here to this community. We are gathering a number of organisers from Devon to post events, so you should get a good feel for the scene in Devon, UK, and maybe explore differe

GET TO GRIPS WITH IMPROV - 5 evenings
A playful improv course, where you can work with the same group of people, all getting to try things out at the same time, and grow the teamwork skills that help improvisers to really shine. Aimed at beginners though experienced are welcome too, as this continuity is really helpful.

We will cover elements of characterisation, setting a scene, using body and emotional change, as well as growing skill in "yes, and", making your partner look good (they do the same for you!) and getting comfortable with going with the flow. And so much more. All while playing fun games and having a feast of a time.

This is five weeks, two hours a week, on a Monday evening 6pm to 8pm and the cost is £75 (I will send a link to participants). There is a donation only try out session on Sunday 18th 1.45pm at Exeter Library.
I hope to follow this with another 5 week course (not obligatory) to end with a performance for those who would like to invite some friendly faces to see what you have been up to.

"But I'm not funny" Just play and have a good time and people will love you for it. That is what makes people laugh.
"What if I make a mistake?" We love mistakes and we love to laugh at them. There is nothing better than making a mess with mates. All "mistakes" welcome!
"Will I fit in?" You don't need to be anything other than your sweet self.

I'm leading this course and hav been a player, performer and teacher for some years. I have a skill for adapting things to suit who is in the class, and being sensitive to individual needs. A safe pair of hands, setting a safe environment to experiment in.

MUSICAL IMPROV - Sunday 4th Extended Musical Improv class at City Gate Hotel 12-5pm. Just £20
This is a great class even if you do not feel confident about musical improv. We will be doing things like complementary/supporting choruses, musical minis and practice in working out who is the protagonist in a scene.
