At Tops Day Nurseries, sustainability isn’t just for one day, it’s part of everything we do. From reducing waste to introducing innovative solutions like SNOAP across our nurseries, we’re always looking for ways to make a positive impact for our children and the planet.

That’s why we’re keeping the Earth Day momentum going… and we’ve got something exciting happening tomorrow 👀

In the Investigators room our little astronauts have been on an exciting space adventure, a rickey trip to the moon!
Through imaginative play, songs and creative activities, the children have been learning about space travel, rockets and the moon. We have counted down from 10 to 1 "Blast off" in our pretend rocket and explore what it might be like to walk on the moons surface.

This activity has helped the children:
Develop numeracy skills through countdowns and sequencing.
Build language and imagination by describing their moon adventures.
Enhance coordination with fun rocket launch actions and moonwalking.
Learn about science in a playful, age-appropriate way.
We’ve also created moon-themed crafts, and talked about how astronauts travel in space. The children were especially fascinated by the idea of wearing space helmets and floating in zero gravity!

We’re so proud of how curious and creative our young explorers have been.
