It was meant to be the 🇪🇸 "Small Home Ed" group today, and some of our little stars aren't feeling well (there's a virus going around, isn't there? 🤒);

🦋 I hope they recover soon 🙏

We have some little ones feeling poorly at home too—in Spanish, we say they are PACHUCHAS 🇪🇸
So, 🔸️estar pachucho🔸️ means 👉
"to feel under the weather" or "to be poorly."

Such a lovely evening session yesterday with my 🇪🇸 IGCSE learner who lives furthest away ✨️

We not only did an intensive verb grammar practice ⭐️very well done A.👏, but we also learned about "el sabor latino" , " el pueblo aimara " and " las Islas Canarias"☀️

Thought I'd share this week's GCSE challenge words, especially the ones that were most challenging :

*comisaría* (police station) and
*desafortunadamente (unfortunately).
Sinonymous : *por desgracia* sounds much more natural in Spanish conversation 😊

🌼 Exam skill tip:

Ways to give opinions about the past:

*Fue horroso*, *un desastre* (It was horrible, a disaster).

🔸️Real Spanish example conversation :

"En mis últimas vacaciones, lo pasé fatal. Por desgracia, perdí mi DNI y tuve que ir a ( la ) comisaría porque me robaron, fue horroroso. "

Do you know what is the DNI in Spain ?....

This feedback is especially meaningful to me. When I first started online tutoring, I wasn't very keen on working with young children because, honestly, I doubted whether I would be able to connect with them online 🦋

And this is called " EL VERANILLO DEL MEMBRILLO " or "el verano de San Miguel "a Spanish seasonal expression that means "little summer of the quince," referring to a brief period of warm, summer-like weather that occurs in early autumn ☀️ (Forget autumn—it’s still proper summer out there! 🥵)
