🎉 Happy 4 Year Work Anniversary to our wonderful Leah! 🎉

Four whole years!

Leah joined the Munchkins family as a quiet but incredibly loveable practitioner in our baby room, and over the last four years, we have had the absolute privilege of watching her grow and achieve what can only be described as greatness!

During her time with us, Leah has gone on to achieve her Early Years Teaching Degree AND her Master’s Degree, all while continuing to pour so much of herself into the children and her role here at Munchkins.

She has since taken the reins of our Pre-School and become the most incredible Unit Leader. Her knowledge, determination and passion for Early Years shine through in everything she does, but what makes Leah truly special is the level of love and care she gives to the children every single day. They absolutely adore her and it’s very easy to see why.

The hard work she puts in never goes unnoticed. Whether she’s supporting her team, planning wonderful experiences for the children or simply being the calm, caring and dependable person we have all come to know and love, Leah gives everything she does her all.

Leah, we genuinely wouldn’t want to be without you. Watching you go from that quiet practitioner in the baby room to the confident, knowledgeable and amazing Unit Leader you are today has been an absolute pleasure.

Happy 4 years, Leah! We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved, and even more grateful that you chose to achieve so much of it as part of our Munchkins family.

🎉 A slightly belated Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Tom! 🎉

On the 8th September, Tom officially reached his one-year milestone with Munchkins and what a year it has been!

Tom joined us pretty green to Early Years, looking for a complete change in career, but he absolutely hit the ground running. Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of watching his confidence grow, his knowledge develop and seeing him really find his place within the Munchkins family.

In just one year, all that hard work and commitment has seen Tom progress to become Deputy Unit Leader in Busy Birds and achieving his early years teacher status an achievement he should be incredibly proud of!

One thing that has been clear from the beginning is that Tom always puts the care, happiness and individual needs of the children at the forefront of everything he does. The relationships he has built with the children show just how much they trust and enjoy having him around.

Now, would our working days be slightly more peaceful without all the Dad jokes? Almost certainly. Has he driven us completely bonkers with them over the last year? Also yes. Are we still very pleased he joined our Munchkins family? Absolutely!

🎉Happy Work Anniversary, Erin!🎉

Today we're wishing our lovely Erin a happy belated work anniversary. As of the 2nd September Erin reached her 2 year's at Munchkins!

Although, if we’re being technical… we’ve actually had her a little longer than that! Erin first came through our doors as a college student on work experience, and we were lucky enough that she decided to stick around and become part of our team.

Erin is one of those people who is always happy to help, no matter what is needed, and she greets everyone with that big smile of hers. She also never fails to wander into the office and leave us laughing about something, there’s certainly never a dull moment when Erin is around!

Most importantly, the children absolutely adore her. The care she has for them and the hard work she puts in every day are so clear to see, and it has been wonderful watching her grow from a student on work experience into the practitioner she is today.

Happy 2-year anniversary, Erin! Thank you for everything you bring to Munchkins your hard work, your willingness to help, your smile and, of course, all the laughs! We’re very lucky to have you as part of our Munchkins family.

MUNCHKINS GRADUATING CLASS OF 2026!

And just like that… our little Munchkins are ready for their next big adventure!

It has been such an incredible privilege to watch each of you grow. From those early days of tiny steps, new words and little hands needing ours, to the confident, funny, kind and wonderfully unique little people standing before us today.

We have watched friendships blossom, personalities shine, confidence grow and so many milestones be reached. We have wiped tears, celebrated triumphs, shared thousands of giggles and made memories that we will treasure long after you leave us.

As you head off to big school, remember to be brave, be kind, ask lots of questions, make lots of friends and, most importantly, never stop being wonderfully YOU.

To our families, thank you for trusting us with your most precious little people and allowing us to be part of their story. It has been an honour.

And to our Munchkins Graduating Class of 2026…

✨ Happy 12-Year Work Anniversary, Claire ✨

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone as our amazing Deputy Unit Leader of Pre-School, Claire, marks 12 wonderful years with the Munchkins family.

Over the past twelve years, Claire has shown unwavering dedication, kindness, and passion in everything she does. She pours her heart into her role every single day, always putting the children at the center of everything she does. Her commitment to giving every child the very best start in life is something truly special.

For so many families, Claire has been more than an educator. She has been a reassuring smile at the door, a listening ear, a comforting hug when it was needed most, and someone they trusted wholeheartedly with the people they love most in the world.

Claire has built the most beautiful bonds with many children over the years, creating a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued, encouraged, and confident to be themselves. Watching children flourish under her care has been a privilege, and thanks to her patience, creativity, and guidance, so many have left our Pre-School ready to spread their wings and begin their exciting next adventure at school.

Claire, thank you for twelve years of giving your heart to Munchkins. Thank you for every story you've read, every tear you've wiped away, every milestone you've celebrated, every word of encouragement you've spoken, and every child you've helped believe in themselves.

The children may eventually outgrow our Pre-School, but they will carry a little piece of your kindness, patience, and belief in them wherever life takes them. That is a legacy to be incredibly proud of.

🏅🌟 Busy Birds Sports Day 2026 🌟🏅

What an absolutely wonderful time our Busy Birds have had at Sports Day!

Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a variety of fun sporting activities, building their confidence, cheering on their friends, and showing incredible determination. We finished the day with a very exciting egg and spoon race and relay race, where our amazing parents joined us to cheer everyone on.

We couldn't be prouder of every single one of our Busy Birds. They gave every activity their very best, showed fantastic teamwork, and wore the biggest smiles. Of course, seeing their grown-ups waiting for them brought a few tears and some very important cuddles along the way, but that's all part of what made today so special.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents and families for taking the time to come along and support the children. Your encouragement and applause helped create memories that our little ones will treasure.

Finally, a massive well done to Jennie, Tom, and the entire Busy Birds Team for all of their hard work, planning, enthusiasm, and dedication in organising such a magical day. It truly couldn't have happened without you, and we're so grateful for everything you do.

As we see schools closing down for summer breaks, we'd like to say a huge thank you to our amazing Twirly Tots Exeter Baby Ballet teacher, Miss Annabelle.

Every Monday, she fills our Busy Birds room with music, movement, imagination, and so much laughter. Watching our little ones grow in confidence, coordination, and creativity through her sessions has been such a joy, and we are so grateful for the kindness, patience, and enthusiasm she brings each week.

Thank you, Miss Annabelle, for making Mondays so magical. We hope you have a wonderful, well-deserved summer break and make lots of happy memories with your own little ones!

It's hard to believe you've already been with us for a whole year! From day one, you've shown a fantastic work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.

Your dedication and hard work haven't gone unnoticed, and it's been great to see the progress you've made throughout your apprenticeship. You're doing brilliantly in your course, and we have no doubt that you're going to smash your Level 2 qualification!

Today we are celebrating our incredible Chef Dawn and a fantastic 4 years with us!

Dawn truly is the heart of our kitchen. She works tirelessly every single day to ensure our children receive meals that are not only nutritious and delicious, but prepared with the utmost care and attention especially when it comes to allergies and individual needs. Her dedication to getting it just right makes such a difference to our setting.

Dawn goes above and beyond for everyone around her. From making sure even the pickiest of eaters leaves with a full tummy, to treating the team with her thoughtful gestures (and the occasional batch of her delicious cookies), she brings so much kindness and care into everything she does.

Her passion, commitment, and high standards shine through in every meal she prepares, and we are so lucky to have someone so talented and devoted as part of our team.

We truly wouldn’t be without you, Dawn. Thank you for everything you do you are amazing!

Today we said goodbye to our lovely ducks as they headed off to their new home on a beautiful free-roaming farm. 🦆💛

Yesterday the children enjoyed watching them have one final swim here at Munchkins, and it was such a special moment to watch. The smiles, excitement, and fits of laughter showed just how much the ducks have been loved by everyone.

We’re so happy knowing they’ll have lots of space to explore and enjoy their next adventure. Have a look at this lovely video of the children watching the ducks enjoy their final swim at Munchkins.
