Today we celebrate an incredible milestone as our amazing Deputy Unit Leader of Pre-School, Claire, marks 12 wonderful years with the Munchkins family.

Over the past twelve years, Claire has shown unwavering dedication, kindness, and passion in everything she does. She pours her heart into her role every single day, always putting the children at the center of everything she does. Her commitment to giving every child the very best start in life is something truly special.

For so many families, Claire has been more than an educator. She has been a reassuring smile at the door, a listening ear, a comforting hug when it was needed most, and someone they trusted wholeheartedly with the people they love most in the world.

Claire has built the most beautiful bonds with many children over the years, creating a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued, encouraged, and confident to be themselves. Watching children flourish under her care has been a privilege, and thanks to her patience, creativity, and guidance, so many have left our Pre-School ready to spread their wings and begin their exciting next adventure at school.

Claire, thank you for twelve years of giving your heart to Munchkins. Thank you for every story you've read, every tear you've wiped away, every milestone you've celebrated, every word of encouragement you've spoken, and every child you've helped believe in themselves.

The children may eventually outgrow our Pre-School, but they will carry a little piece of your kindness, patience, and belief in them wherever life takes them. That is a legacy to be incredibly proud of.

🏅🌟 Busy Birds Sports Day 2026 🌟🏅

What an absolutely wonderful time our Busy Birds have had at Sports Day!

Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a variety of fun sporting activities, building their confidence, cheering on their friends, and showing incredible determination. We finished the day with a very exciting egg and spoon race and relay race, where our amazing parents joined us to cheer everyone on.

We couldn't be prouder of every single one of our Busy Birds. They gave every activity their very best, showed fantastic teamwork, and wore the biggest smiles. Of course, seeing their grown-ups waiting for them brought a few tears and some very important cuddles along the way, but that's all part of what made today so special.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents and families for taking the time to come along and support the children. Your encouragement and applause helped create memories that our little ones will treasure.

Finally, a massive well done to Jennie, Tom, and the entire Busy Birds Team for all of their hard work, planning, enthusiasm, and dedication in organising such a magical day. It truly couldn't have happened without you, and we're so grateful for everything you do.

Well done, Busy Birds you were all superstars today!

As we see schools closing down for summer breaks, we'd like to say a huge thank you to our amazing Twirly Tots Exeter Baby Ballet teacher, Miss Annabelle.

Every Monday, she fills our Busy Birds room with music, movement, imagination, and so much laughter. Watching our little ones grow in confidence, coordination, and creativity through her sessions has been such a joy, and we are so grateful for the kindness, patience, and enthusiasm she brings each week.

Thank you, Miss Annabelle, for making Mondays so magical. We hope you have a wonderful, well-deserved summer break and make lots of happy memories with your own little ones!

It's hard to believe you've already been with us for a whole year! From day one, you've shown a fantastic work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.

Your dedication and hard work haven't gone unnoticed, and it's been great to see the progress you've made throughout your apprenticeship. You're doing brilliantly in your course, and we have no doubt that you're going to smash your Level 2 qualification!

Thank you for everything you bring to the team, Isabelle. We're proud to have you with us and can't wait to see what you achieve in the future. Here's to many more successes ahead!

🎉 Happy 4-Year Work Anniversary, Dawn! 🎉

Today we are celebrating our incredible Chef Dawn and a fantastic 4 years with us!

Dawn truly is the heart of our kitchen. She works tirelessly every single day to ensure our children receive meals that are not only nutritious and delicious, but prepared with the utmost care and attention especially when it comes to allergies and individual needs. Her dedication to getting it just right makes such a difference to our setting.

Dawn goes above and beyond for everyone around her. From making sure even the pickiest of eaters leaves with a full tummy, to treating the team with her thoughtful gestures (and the occasional batch of her delicious cookies), she brings so much kindness and care into everything she does.

Her passion, commitment, and high standards shine through in every meal she prepares, and we are so lucky to have someone so talented and devoted as part of our team.

We truly wouldn’t be without you, Dawn. Thank you for everything you do you are amazing!

🎉 Happy 8-Year Work Anniversary, Ali! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone – 8 whole years with our amazing Ali!

Ali truly is a workhorse – always reliable, always hardworking, and always there when you need her. She’s an incredible support to our chef, and you can guarantee that when Ali is around, things get done.

She’s a familiar face in our Busy Bird room, but loved right across the whole setting, especially when she pops into pre-school and is greeted with a loud and excited “ALIIII!”

Ali is famous for doing her “Ali thing” sorting laundry, clearing up messes she didn’t even make… and of course, sometimes creating a few memorable ones of her own.

We are so lucky to have you, Ali. Thank you for everything you do, we truly wouldn’t be without you.

Over the past week, our nursery has been filled with lots of excitement as we welcomed some very special visitors… duck eggs! Introducing Brian, William, Jemima and Mabel

Since arriving at nursery last week, the children have been eagerly observing the eggs each day, learning all about the duck life cycle and patiently waiting for signs that the ducklings were ready to hatch. A few days ago, the wait was finally over as the children watched in amazement while the ducklings began breaking out of their shells and entering the world.

It has been such a magical hands-on learning experience for the children, who have loved watching the ducklings grow stronger and more confident each day. There have been so many lovely conversations with our older groups about how to care for animals, what living things need to grow, and the importance of being calm, gentle, and kind.

Today was another very exciting milestone as the children got to watch the ducklings swim! There were lots of smiles, laughter, and fascination as they splashed around and explored the water so naturally.

Experiences like this create wonderful opportunities for curiosity, learning, and nurturing empathy and understanding of the natural world. We are so proud of how caring and engaged the children have been throughout the whole journey.

We’re looking forward to enjoying a few more special moments with our fluffy little visitors before they move on to their next adventure on Thursday.

Today we are celebrating an absolutely amazing milestone for a truly cherished member of our Munchkin’s family

For 12 wonderful years, Sally has been part of the heart and soul of Munchkin’s. As one of our dedicated lunchtime assistants, she does so much more than her role ever asks, she is truly one of the backbones of our nursery.

Sally is a constant source of support for our staff and a loving, reassuring presence for every child she meets. Whether it’s offering a warm hug, a listening ear, or a few words of heartfelt advice, she is always there bringing comfort, kindness, and calm into even the busiest of days.

Over the years, Sally has become so much more than a colleague. She has been a guiding hand, a shoulder to lean on, and a true mother figure to so many members of our team. Her care, her warmth, and her unwavering support have touched more lives than we could ever count.

We are beyond lucky, truly blessed, to have Sally as part of our Munchkin’s family. Her love for the children and dedication to the team shines through in everything she does, and Munchkin’s simply wouldn’t be the same without her

Jennie joined us 5 years ago as an Early Years Educator, and since then, her journey has been nothing short of amazing. Through her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment, she has grown into her role as Unit Leader of our Busy Birds, as well as becoming our Nursery SENDCo, a role she carries with such care and expertise

Jennie’s dedication to ensuring every child receives the very best start in life is truly outstanding. Her knowledge, compassion, and tireless support for children with additional needs, and their families, never go unnoticed. She is a true advocate for every child, always going above and beyond to ensure they feel supported, understood, and able to thrive

Within Busy Birds, Jennie is guiding her team with confidence, kindness, and a genuine love for what she does.

We are so incredibly proud of everything Jennie has achieved and continues to achieve each and every day. 💚
