Year 2 had a fantastic time in Science today as part of their learning on Living Things and Their Habitats!
The children became habitat designers, creating their own microhabitats and carefully considering everything living things need to survive and thrive. They considered how their habitats could provide food, water, shelter, space, air and protection from predators and harsh weather.
There were some fantastic discussions as the children predicted which animals might choose to live in their microhabitats and explained their reasoning. We explored how different creatures have different needs and why certain habitats are better suited to particular animals.
It was wonderful to see such creativity, curiosity and scientific thinking as the children brought their habitats to life!

Every 1st Tuesday of the month, we host a free online support service for parents & carers who have a child diagnosed ( or suspected ) with autism.

We believe that no one needs to walk alone in their autism parenting journey and we are asking schools to pass on the attached leaflet to any family that would benefit from this service.

Today we had our Extreme Environments Hook Day in Year 2! We explored the desert and polar regions, creating passports, packing our suitcases and discovering what we could see, hear and experience.

We also became scientists for the day and took part in a fun blubber experiment to investigate how animals survive in the extreme cold. A fantastic day of exploring and learning!
