Exeter clinch inaugural BUCS University Touch Championships | England Touch The Hurricanes regained the national title they last won in 2019, but this time around there were all-important BUCS points at stakes, helping the University of Exeter as they try to chase down Nottingham and Loughborough at the top of the Mixed and Open table.

Here we have the team representing STORM (4s) at this weekends final University Touch Championships in Nottingham. STORM will be playing in the bowl round! Special mention goes to those who will be representing EUTRC for the last time before they graduate, we hope they have an amazing weekend and have enjoyed their time with EUTRC.

🏉HURRICANES TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT🏉

Here we have the team representing HURRICANES (1s) at this weekends University Touch Championships in Nottingham. Hurricanes will be playing in the cup round and fighting to take home BUCS gold! Shout out goes to those who are playing in their last UTC for EUTRC. We hope they have an amazing competition and have enjoyed their time playing with EUTRC.

Hurricanes are currently tied for first place and are going to have to fight this weekend to take home the national title. Congratulations to those who were selected and we wish them the best of luck.

Things we love to see

Exeter win leaves University Touch Championships finely poised | England Touch In beating Loughborough 1 6-3 in the final at Nottingham’s Riverside Sports Complex the Hurricanes pulled themselves level with the Midlanders, who were unable to turn an appearance in the Round 1 final into Round 2 silverware.

EUTRC FRESHERS 2022 WhatsApp Group Invite

Hello EUTRC newcomers, we are looking forward to meeting you all this week!!

If you haven’t already, please get your taster session tickets from FIXR, these are the times:

Tuesday 9-10
Tuesday 10-11
Wednesday 11-12
Thursday 4-5

The link for tickets can be found below, invite friends along but makes sure they also get tickets! Reminder: you only need to get a ticket for ONE taster session.

We will also be having a “Meet the Committee” in the ram on Tuesday at 11.30, and Wednesday at 12.30, so come along to get to know our lovely committee and our other lovely members! The Ram is the uni’s student union bar and is situated in the Student’s Guild by the Forum.

We will be situated on Forum Hill throughout the week so come along for more information about the club, memberships, stash (some of which could be free👀)

Final bit of info, our Freshers social this week will be at Party in the Castle, tickets can be purchased through EUTRC on TRILO, and they include TP after party, link also down below.

💚 AU Dinner 2022 💚

Last night our committee attended the University of Exeter’s AU Dinner held in Exeter Castle - and it was a hugely successful night for the club! We had nominations in 4 categories, which is just a small indication of the huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to help our club achieve success. Although every single person nominated for an individual award was thoroughly deserving in our eyes, we walked away with one win which we couldn’t be happier about!

EUTRC Nominations:
Achievements in Media: EUTRC (Sadie Pither)
Treasurer of the Year: Keanu Boucher
Fresher of the Year: Emily Simon
Club of the Year: EUTRC

Overall, we won the Achievements in Media award which was absolutely incredible. Not only was it a reflection of our Pub Sec’s hard work, but also the supportive nature of the entire committee and the club as a whole. We wouldn’t have been nominated for 4 awards without every single one of our insane committee members and dedicated club members - so thank you to everyone for your tireless support of the club this year!

We’d also like to congratulate all the nominees from AU clubs, as well as the award winners - and say a massive thank you to the AU for organising last nights dinner and supporting us throughout the year.

There was no better way to round off what was an amazing year for the club - on to bigger and better things next season 🚀
