This reminds me of a conversation I had with a teenager who was puzzled why a Wildlife/Country Park did not have caged Tigers and then was horrified when I told him that we did have foxes running free somewhere in the park. He classed Foxes as dangerous as Tigers and I’m not sure he understood which one was native to Britain.

Had a busy few months planning, organising and running Thrybergh Country Park Christmas Market and Children events. Both evening and day events were amazing and I worked with some very talented entertainers, charities, craft stall holders and Country Park staff who all made the spirit of Christmas come alive for the young and old.

Join me in my beautiful local ancient woodland for a magical autumnal playtime with Wood Spirit UK. We are trying to promote this underused and understood woodland and I want to see more people playing, relaxing and enjoying life in it. Please share.

Im making myself sit down again and do some planning, but its exciting.
Next week I am introducing a school group to a new woodland character – Forest Explorer Claire. The eccentric explorer will take them on an adventure for something special, something wonderful, something that will amaze them, something, yes something and we will know what that something is when the explorer remembers what that something is!
The aim is to get the children looking and discovering ‘something’ in the woodland.
The Tilley hat is coming out.

This weekend I was a pirate for my event at Thrybergh Country Park and today I was lady in waiting for maid Marian for a school group at Sherwood Forest. Never boring my work!
Today I delivered my final Outdoor Play session for Thrybergh and Dalton Children centre working with a research fellow from Manchester University. I have loved every minute of it! Aiding children play in the outdoors with nature is wonderful enough but then add the magic of incorporating the world of Paw Patrol, Pepper Pig, Ben and Holly and we’re going on a bear hunt has been amazing. Too many wonderful moments to mention. Today I watched a child play in Green Spaghetti (Swishy Swashy Grass) and homemade Moon Sand ( Hooo Woooo Snow) for over 20 minutes in bear feet, exploring all the sensory delights it held. I would like to thank Dr Abigail Hackett (Research Fellow, Education and Social Research Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University) for this amazing opportunity.

Another busy few weeks of running a weekly outdoor toddler group, a school Forest School programme, organising and running Thrybergh Country Park 1st Car Boot sale, helping run my scouts group family camp over the weekend (with over 100 attending) and now I have a day of planning ready for this weeks adventures!

My new Wednesday Forest School home at Aspire, Rotherham. A few tress, a little wild area, but we are busy adding habitats and found a prickly visitor!
I have two new exciting projects for April and May. One is running weekly Forest School sessions to children in a Rotherham Pupil Referral Unit and the other is developing and delivering toddler outdoor play sessions for a Rotherham children centre. Two very different challengers but I am enjoying every minute of it.

- Watch demonstrations from an amazing woodland sculpture artist and a mobile saw mill.
- Find out how you can spot and look after the wildlife in your garden or local green space
- Make and take home a nutty bird cake and a garden naughty garden Boggart.
Last night I was circuit training and practicing yoga with my Anston Beavers (human Scout kind), today I’m supporting Anston Park Y3 children on a trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and tomorrow I’m working in a local nature reserve with a NEET group (Not in Education, Employment or Training) maintaining a public right of way. This week is not going to be boring.
