Let’s not kid ourselves…we can all see Dentistry is changing!
We as a profession are at a cross roads right now and the public are analysing us more than ever! Like it or not the private sector has become the new route for all those that can afford it but due to so many experiencing private dentistry for the first time we can either make or break that relationship!
With a positive experience they will understand the value of what you can offer. With a bad experience we would’ve damaged the public faith in the profession even more. It’s imperative that we as a profession show the public what we can offer without the constraints of the current nhs so they can see the actual true value of dentistry.
As chair of the BDA Western Counties and founder of the Young Dentist Group South West 8 years ago I’ve been mentoring young associates into private practice for many years and founded Private Dental Mentor (PDM) last year for this exact purpose. This is about more than just a course for me but about investing in the future generations to help elevate UK Dentistry to a higher level over the next few years and show the public just how good private dentistry can be if done well.
