This week in the baby room we have been busy getting messy, we have enjoyed playing with the play dough paint and with the shaving foam. We have also been out for a walk to see the tractors 🚜. We’ve been exploring the fire engines and the stations, where we have been making new-naw sounds 🚒. Also, been practising our mark making on large paper on the floor. 📝

This week in the big room we loved reading Gruffalo Granny and used runner beans and other materials to make Gruffalo soup. We enjoyed talking about what happens during the story. Continuing our nature theme we used our gross motor skills to shake the tray to move the conkers through the paint leaving colourful marks. In the garden 🪴 we have been using materials as role play food 🥘 items and creating different meals to serve to our friends.

WITH LOVE FROM BROADCLYST 🤍

This week we have really enjoyed exploring different nature objects on our walks. We used our bingo cards to match objects we found like the planes in the sky ✈️ acorns and leaves 🍁on the floor.

We have been using our fine motor skills by using tweezers to sort the vehicles into different groups such as colour or style 🚗🚤🚂. We also threaded the pipe cleaners into the tubes independently.

We’ve really enjoyed learning our new airplane yoga. 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️ We listen to the song and copy the different vehicle movements. We have also been showing off our dance moves 🎶💃

This week the babies have enjoyed lots of lovely walks around the farm to visit the animals 🐓🦆 and to pick some blackberries! We copied the noises the animals were making and used the blackberries that we picked to make marks with them 🖌and to make playdough. The babies loved smelling, squishing and rolling the playdough as well as using cutters to make different shapes 💜 The babies have also enjoyed dance parties 💃 moving their bodies to music and waving colourful scarfs🎊

This week the toddlers have loved going blackberry picking. we used dinosaurs to stomp on the blackberries to make marks🫐 we have loved train tracks and making areas of the room places we have been to before, such as the ‘zoo’ and the ‘beach’. We have loved growing in independence and had a go at putting dressing up costumes on. We have been firefighters🚒, super heroes🦸🏼‍♂️ and doctors🩺. We have enjoyed playing with the sensory house and building our motor skills too🖐

Pre school have enjoyed doing lots of junk modelling, we made our own rocket🚀 out of boxes, tape and bottles. We have spoken about the importance of recycling and caring for our world🌍 preschool have enjoyed making and playing with playdough, exploring a range of scents and colours🍊🍋. We have used the playdough to make ‘cakes’, ‘hedgehogs’ and ‘whales’. We have also loved doing obstacle courses, using stepping stones to balance and jumping in hula hoops⭕️🪜

This week we have been practicing our cutting skills, carefully trying to follow the lines with the scissors! ✂️
We have also enjoyed painting and talking about the colours we see and how we make different colours! 🎨🟡🟠🔴
We have also been making bug pictures by drawing bugs on the paper with the leaves we have collected in the garden! 🐛🐞🐜

This week in the big room we have enjoyed several trips to the park, soaking up the last of the warm sunshine ☀️
We spoke about the golden rules & road safety and held our adults and friends hands whilst walking there. We used our gross motor skills to climb the equipment and even had a game of hide and seek!
We have also enjoyed talking about the weather changing and what we can see outside. We gathered items from the garden for an autumn tuff tray.

This week in the baby room we have been beginning to welcome the autumn months. We collected some fallen leaves and used crayons to make some leaf rubbing pictures! 🍁 We tried learning some of the colours too! We also used some pinecones and logs with tricolour pasta to make an autumn tray ans practise our filling and emptying skills! 🪣

WITH LOVE FROM COTLEY FARM 🤍

This week at Cotley Farm, things have started to feel quite Autumnal 🍂 🧡🤎. We have been looking out for the changes around the farm, such as the leaves changing colour 🍃 ➡️🍂 and lots of things on the ground that have fallen from the trees 🌲. Our toddler friends have been busy making some Autumn sensory bottles from the items we have found around the farm on our walks 🥾🔎

We continued on the autumnal theme, using natural materials to create faces! The children used the shells to create the eyes and pinecones for their mouth! 🐚👄 For the babies, this activity allowed the children to explore different materials and textures 👶🏼

In big room this week the children have been Doing lots of running up to their adults in the garden and jumping on them. They have been doing lots of different yoga stretches and different positions 🧘

This week in baby room we have been playing football ⚽️ in the garden practicing their catching 🫴throwing and kicking 🦵 the balls to their friends. We have been building lots of towers with different sized blocks and we’ve enjoyed knocking it down.

Nanny Bears Open Day — Exeter! 🐻

We’re excited to announce that Nanny Bears will be holding an Open Day for our Exeter-based settings:

Hope Hall, Old Stables, and The Cottage on Saturday the 3rd October!

This Open Day gives you the chance to come and explore our warm, welcoming and home from home settings.

This week in the baby room we been fully enjoying the garden and going for walks. Where we have enjoyed listening out to the cars driving by and playing with diggers in the sand. 🚗🚜. This resulted in us making our own train track inside. From the interest of garden and vehicles, we have been reading books about them, with diggers and excavators 📚. We have also really enjoyed playing with the dolls house and popping the bubbles. We have explored all things shapes with our water mat 🔺.

This week in the big room we have enjoyed going on lots of autumnal walks where we collected some leaves 🍁, sticks 🪵 and conkers. We used these natural materials for lots of different fun activities including mark making🎨, play doh exploration and painting🖌️. We carefully cut up the apples and dipped them in autumnal coloured paint to make some fun patterns and even talked about different sizes! We worked hard to sort our apples into big, medium and small!
