It is always such a pleasure to celebrate our Star Learners each week during assembly and the past two weeks have certainly been special! We celebrated children for excellent efforts with handwriting, showing curiosity learning about new topics and excellent reading! Well done everyone!!

🚶‍♀️🚶Walkability in Year 5 🚶‍♀️🚶

Last week, Year 5 completed their Walkability sessions, where they learned about different road signs and how to cross the road safely. The children discussed the importance of finding a safe place to cross before remembering the key steps: stop, look and listen. We then headed out into the local area to put these skills into practice, identifying suitable crossing points and demonstrating safe road-crossing behaviours.

As many children begin to walk to school more independently, these sessions play an important role in helping them develop the awareness, confidence and responsibility needed to stay safe on the roads near our school. The children showed excellent maturity throughout the session and should be proud of how well they applied their learning!

It has been wonderful to see our playground full of laughter, friendship and fun over the first few weeks of school! 😊

Playtime is such an important part of the school day, giving children opportunities to build friendships, develop social skills, stay active and simply enjoy playing together! Our pupils have most certainly enjoyed every moment! 💚

As part of our learning about the Benin Kingdom in history, year 5 have created clay replicas of some of the most famous Benin Bronzes. Using tools to create intricate details, each child chose a bronze mask or plaque to recreate in clay. Here are some of their incredible creations.
