We are hoping to have photographic memories rolling on a big screen in the hall for the Celebration Event. If you have any photos or videos of St Margaret's School in the past, please send them to [email protected] or send them by post to Mrs J Benham St Margaret's School, 147 Magdalen Road, Exeter, EX2 4TS. All photos can be collected on the day as they will be scanned in and put in an envelope with your name on it.
St Margaret's School Alumni
A warm welcome to all of you! We hope you will find this page interesting and that it will encourage you to keep in touch with one another and with the school.
It is another opportunity for friendships and memories of happy school days It is now over a hundred years since Miss Bessie Jago founded a school in Southernhay for ‘the daughters of gentlemen’. We’ve come a long way since then! Hundreds of pupils have passed through the red front door and have countless memories of their days spent in the seven large Georgian –style houses on the Magdalen Road.
It is with regret that the Governing Body has taken the difficult decision to close St Margaret's at the end of the current academic year. Further details about the closure are available on our website: http://www.stmargarets-school.co.uk/. Our pupils remain our utmost concern during this difficult time and teaching will continue as normal for this academic year.

The reunion lunch for the leavers of 1981 held on Saturday 14th May 2011 was a lovely occasion. It was master minded by Jane Major (nee Fox) who as the year representative has worked so hard to renew contacts with so many of the peer group and bring over 30 of them together for a trip down memory lane. She has been producing a regular newsletter for the year group editing it and sending it out as more information came through and others got in touch
It was decided to celebrate in 2011 as it is 30 years since they left school and for many they had not seen each other in all those years. There were photographs to remind them of their time at St M’s but for many those memories quickly came flooding back as they entered through the Red Door and wandered around the buildings visiting classrooms and old haunts, so much laughter as well.
Jane’s husband, Steve, was the ‘official’ photographer and has produced an amazing CD of all the photos for those attending, including the statutory group photo on the front lawn which you can see here. You may also see other familiar faces in that photo, several staff who taught the girls or who were their form staff joined the reunion.
A marvellous effort from Jane which was much appreciated by all - Thank you.
I’m sure they are all looking forward to the next reunion planned possibly in another 5 years 2016!!
