This weekend, we received some lovely feedback from two members of the public commending our pupils' exemplary behaviour during a recent school trip to the stunning Bicton Park Botanical Gardens 🌱

Well done, Year 7, and a big thank-you to Mrs Reavill and Miss Norris for organising this fantastic trip!

Meet an Exeter Chiefs rugby player: ✅

Feeling extremely thankful for Japanese international and Exeter Chiefs Women rugby player Kobayashi Kanako who visited our Year 8s yesterday to give an incredibly inspiring session.

Hearing about life as a professional athlete, her inspiration and how she sets out to achieve her goals has given our Year 8s so much to take away as they prepare for Senior School and beyond.

(Well done to ECS pupil, Hugo, for some superb translating, too 👌)

RNLI + Exeter Cathedral School 💙

Last week, we were delighted to welcome RNLI Volunteer, John Wood, to Hall House (the home of our Nursery and Pre-Prep).

Pupils from both Pre-Prep and Lower Years enjoyed a fun and informative session learning about water safety and the vital role the RNLI plays in our community.

It was also another fantastic opportunity to help prepare our youngest pupils for their transition to the next year by meeting their Prep teachers.

Inspired by the visit, Rory in Year 3 even donned the iconic RNLI kit for a friendly ‘race to get dressed’, beating Mr Kelly!

Thank you, John, and everyone at the RNLI, for your dedication to keeping people safe at sea.

Would you like to learn more about the RNLI's lifesaving work? You can visit their website and donate to their cause here: https://rnli.org/

ECS Pre-Prep & Prep Parents: There are still some places available on our much-loved Summer Holiday Club! It's set to be another wonderful week of fun for pupils who attend ☀️

You can find out more and reserve a place for your children by emailing Mr Kelly: [email protected]

Year 4’s production of James & the Giant Peach this week was absolutely wonderful, and don’t get us started on the backdrop! 🍑👏

“I’m immensely proud of the pupils for their incredible performance in last night’s production. Their talent and hard work shone brightly on stage, leaving us all in awe.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Collins, Mrs. Reavill and Miss Bullocke for their help and effort in making the show possible!” – Miss Fleming, Head of Lower Years

Congratulations to our Assistant Houseparent, Mr Ward! As well as helping to look after our Boarders, Mr Ward is a bass choral scholar in Exeter Cathedral, and has just been accepted into the top-drawer . Bravo, Mr Ward! 🏆

We are thrilled that two of our Choral Scholars, Joseph and Benjamin, have been accepted into 'Genesis Sixteen'. This prestigious and highly competitive young artists’ scheme will give them the opportunity to learn from the expertise of members of the internationally-renowned choir, The Sixteen, who are regular visitors to Exeter Cathedral on their Choral Pilgrimage. This is a real achievement for both of them, and a great step in their development as young professional singers. Congratulations Joe and Benjamin!

Choral scholarships at Exeter Cathedral offer exceptional opportunities for young singers, and we still have alto and tenor vacancies for the coming academic year. Find out more about these exciting roles at https://www.exeter-cathedral.org.uk/about-us/vacancies/

For 3+ years, Exeter Cathedral School has been supporting the amazing 'Feeding Communities' initiative by Thomas Franks, which has delivered over 1 million meals!

Locally, the school contributes by offering weekly meals to neighbours at St Petrock's (Exeter) Ltd, supporting Exeter’s homeless.

“This partnership is fantastic,” says Peter Stephenson, Director of St Petrock’s. “The meals make life a little bit more bearable for those who have nowhere to call home in our city.”

James Featherstone, Headmaster of Exeter Cathedral School, adds, “We’re delighted to work with Thomas Franks to support St Petrock’s. We’re a city-centre school and are committed to being an engaged and active part of our community.

Character Education, looking out for others, and contributing positively to the world around us are not bolt-ons here – they have been part of the fabric of our school for the last 800 years or so, and this partnership with Thomas Franks and St Petrock’s perfectly exemplifies that ethos.”
