Preparing food can be a wonderful learning opportunity for little hands. 🍎 Children are involved each day in preparing their snacks and lunches, including activities such as chopping, peeling and grating. These practical experiences help develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills that will support children in later skills such as learning to hold a pencil.

We are loving our new environments. We’ve completed wet on wet painting, planted herbs in our garden, built with the blocks and the train. Our little ones have enjoyed role play with the dolls and exploring the pine cones and the sounds with he instruments. Feel free to pop in and visit we have some spaces still available and would welcome you.

What a fantastic summer we’ve had at our Holiday Club and Devon HAF Programme at The Ark at Thomas Hall! 🎪✨

As Summer 2026 draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on all the fun, laughter and new experiences the children have enjoyed. One of the highlights was our brilliant Circus Skills Day with Floatsam Circus, where everyone had the chance to get involved, have a go and try something new.

With support from trusted and familiar adults, children explored a range of circus skills, including juggling, plate spinning, diabolo, stilt walking and even unicycling. These activities gave children opportunities to build confidence, coordination, throwing and catching skills, while enjoying fun challenges suited to different ages and abilities.

We were so proud to see everyone embracing the experience, encouraging one another and having such a wonderful time together. 💛

A huge thank you to all the children, families and staff who helped make this summer so special. We’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for more fun and adventure during the October half-term holidays!

Outdoor play gives children space to move, investigate and build confidence through experience. 🌳 Our protected outdoor area gives children opportunities to climb, slide, enjoy the sand and explore the mud kitchen, all within the beautiful natural grounds surrounding the setting. It is a space where active bodies and curious minds can stay wonderfully busy.
