Following our recent Ofsted inspection on Thursday 7th August 2025, we are delighted to share that First Steps NHS Nursery has been graded as βOutstandingβ in all four areas of judgement β with no recommendations for improvement.
This is an especially proud moment for us as it marks our third consecutive Outstanding
judgement from Ofsted β a true testament to the consistent care, quality and dedication across our nursery community.
We are incredibly proud that the report reflects this exceptional practice at First Steps NHS Nursery.
Some of the highlights include:
"Staff provide children with an exceptional level of personalised support and care.β
"Children delight in the stimulating experiences provided and eagerly take part in activities.β
"Babies demonstrate warm, trusting bonds with staff who skilfully extend their learning.β
"Children make the best possible progress from their starting points.β
"Staff provide a highly inclusive environment"
"Children with complex medical and learning needs are incredibly well supported by staff."
This achievement is a true reflection of the dedication, skill and passion of our staff team, alongside the support of our families and, of course, the enthusiasm of the children themselves.
We couldnβt be prouder of our nursery community and we thank you sincerely for being such an important part of this journey.

Last night, staff enjoyed themselves at our 2024 Christmas Works Party ππ.
Without our fantastic, hardworking team, we would not be able to do the amazing things we do for the children each and every day.
So a huge thank you to each and every one of them, for making First Steps NHS Nursery the fantastic team it is.

Trust Value: EmpowermentβοΈ
The Trust are committed to future investment at First Steps Nursery, so that we can continue in our journey of offering high quality care and education to the children who attend.
It is important that we empower our staff to contribute to the future development of the setting and have their say.
So we set up an exciting initiative to provide the staff with the opportunity to have their say, by hosting our very own 'Dragons Den' style opportunity, allowing staff to pitch their future vision for what they feel, would be the most beneficial investment of resources to the children.
We had some really fantastic pitches, where the staff worked really hard to research, understand and explain what benefit their ideas would have on the children's future development, together with how this will be measured.
Here is a sneaky peek at what we have been up to - we can't wait to share it all with you in full!
Wow! What a fantastic effort from our children and families, for our Halloween Pumkin Carving Contest. After seeing the staff contest entries yesterday, we didn't think we could top that, but then this happened...
Today's staff 'Pumpkin Carving Competition 2024'.
What a fantastic effort by all!
Our childrens 'Pumpkin Carving' winners will be announced tomorrow :)
Exciting times πππ
