Is Devon a place of displaced belongings? Is it a place where migrants live happily ever after? Is it welcoming? Diversified? Multicultural? Multiethnic? And multilingual? If you want to find out more about the multifaceted aspects of Devon as a hosting site of various nationalities and voices, come and join this session. We will show our 2021 ‘Transcultural Devon: Displaced Belongings’ short film and our ‘Transcultural Devon’ video archive, produced by University of Exeter students and staff. You will discover how our ‘Transcultural Devon’ project came together, how it is evolving, what educational and cultural purposes it has acquired and to what extent it has helped us develop links with the Devon community. Finally, participants will be invited to share their stories of migration to Devon and to join our empathic and rewarding approach to the making of multicultural Devon.

Join Eliana Maestri, Valentina Todino and Alice Farris for this session at 10am on 13th May at Exeter Public Library.
