The start of our Chinese New Year celebrations!

It's important for us to provide opportunities to extend our children's knowledge and understanding about the world. We are passionate about learning about other cultures and religions at Ide.

Inclusion and Diversity is a huge part of Early Years, introducing our children to new cultures in a fun and interactive way from a young age is extremely important. We help children develop positive attitudes towards diversity and inclusion.

We have opened our own Chinese Restaurant in Apple Class which is filled with loose parts to encourage our children to use their imagination!
Loose parts enhance children's ability to think imaginatively and see solutions, and they bring a sense of adventure and excitement to children's play (Daly and Beloglovsky, 2015).

We are passionate about bringing loose parts into our provision to watch the children become creative and grow a love for learning.

At Ide Pre-School we ensure positive attitudes to diversity and difference. Not only so that every child is included and not disadvantaged, but also so that they learn from the earliest age to value diversity in others and grow up making a positive contribution to society.🌍

Exploring the outdoors with our friends🍂
We have been exploring our outdoor space. Outdoor play is extremely important in Early Years, it helps develop confidence, social skills, communication, motivation, physical skills, knowledge and understanding. We are lucky our Pre-School is based in a beautiful location in Ide.

Our next virtual drop in for children under 2 and a half is next Tuesday 19th July between 1 and 2.30pm. This is an opportunity for a short discussion and advice from a Speech and Language Therapist. Further drop ins will be run throughout the year.

Today Ide Pre-School went on our first school trip to Bear Town. The children were very excited travelling on a coach to and from there.

We were lucky enough to have exclusive use of Bear Town for our visit. The children loved exploring and learning through play throughout the 12 unique role play areas.

Our children were so well behaved, and even tidied up to the ‘tidy up song’, before we returned to Pre-School.

We love being creative in our Pre School! Mark making is not all about confining it to one area, we love watching our children extend their mark making play inside and outside using different materials independently! Process art is a journey for children, it helps support their development of their hand muscles to be able to form letters in school!

Through their marks, they are communicating their ideas, expressing their feelings, developing their imagination and creativity, and testing their hypotheses about the world!
