🦌 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻!

I’m now on the ferry making my way to Sweden, where I’ll be teaching a deer skin tanning course at Fotevikens Vikingaby starting June 22 — and there’s still one spot left if you want to join. 🙂

But first, a little stop at my cabin — my favorite place to breathe, reset, and be alone for a moment.

After that, I’m heading to Stockholm to teach at a Viking event for two days.

And then… back to the cabin, where I’m staying put for a while.
I love people — but right now, I seriously need some me‑time and to gather energy.

🐉 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆!

This week I’m off to Sweden — first stop is my cabin, which I can’t wait to see again (and yes, there’s plenty to take care of!).

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 to teach a three‑day fat tanning course from June 22–24.

The cool thing about Fotevikens is that it’s a living museum, so I’ll be in full Viking attire — something I really enjoy. It slows me down and connects me to the craft in a different way.

More to come on the cabin soon, but for now — there are only two spots left for the Foteviken course! 🦌

🔥 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 — 𝗠𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗞𝗢𝗚

At the end of May, I had the pleasure of speaking about my life and experiences in the outdoors at this year's Spring 𝗦𝗞𝗢𝗚 event in Sweden run by Basecamp North.

SKOG is a dual sport motorcycle event where adventure riders get together to improve their skills during the day and exchange tall tales over a beer in the evenings! 😁🍺

This was an unusual event for me to speak at, as adventure riding is perhaps Bushcraft adjacent, but it was an absolute ball! The attendees were friendly and welcoming, and it was obvious they all loved riding bikes. The weather was perfect. Warm and sunny, and I met some wonderful people who gleefully shared their incredible and often hilarious stories with me over the course of the weekend.

So.... before I left for the event, I thought to myself... I wonder what parts of what I do will be of interest to this group?! Bikers = Leather, right?! 😂😆

So, I brought along some of my leather clothing and, of course, my Parka from Alone for people to check out and try on after my stage talk. Which was lots of fun and allowed space for questions one on one 😁.

I will say the highlight of the weekend for me was getting to bounce around the forest on a bike for a bit! LOL!

A bit of background.... 23 years ago, in another lifetime, I rode a KLR 250 for a couple of years 😂😂... but still... BaseCampNorth Thanks a bunch for trusting me with your bike 😆

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟮–𝟮𝟰 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, I’ll be teaching a small, dedicated group how to transform raw deer skin into soft, durable, traditionally tanned leather at Fotevikens Vikingaby — surrounded by the atmosphere of a living Viking museum just outside Malmö.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹:

• Work hands‑on with real deer skins
• Learn the full progression from skin to finished leather.
• Understand de‑fleshing, de‑hairing, softening & smoking
• Use natural, non‑toxic methods practiced for thousands of years
• Experience the rhythm and craft of a living Viking village

This workshop will introduce you to a skill that made us who we are as humans! It is hands-on, historical and unforgettable — and it only runs once a year in Sweden.
