Update on Weather Situation
Firstly, thank you very much for all of the encouraging comments shared with staff as we’ve been adapting to on-line learning. We recognise that this hasn’t been easy for a number of our community, including staff and trust that the support and contact from school has resolved on-line issues but please do contact staff if there are still unresolved ‘gremlins’. On-line attendance has been high, and this has aided learning.
We do recognise that adaptations like this can be challenging for all concerned and I am really sorry for any inconvenience. Decisions are always made to prioritise safety and learning and communicated as soon as we are able to.
With the weather set to be lower in temperature on Friday 26th June, but still high, we will as previously stated be open for all students at the usual times on Friday.
Below is a reminder of the adaptations for students in order to help them with the heat. We look forward to seeing everyone face to face in school tomorrow.
Students may still choose to wear normal uniform and the following will be acceptable:
➡️ Students may choose to continue to wear school uniform
➡️Students may choose to wear normal uniform without a tie
➡️Students may choose to wear PE kit
Please do not wear a combination of both school uniform and PE kit
Please can parents/carers ensure that students do not attempt to make any adjustments to their PE kit. I am grateful for your support with ensuring your son/daughter wears the appropriate PE kit. Hoodies, tracksuit tops or any other accessories will not be allowed.
Water
Please come to school with a least two full water bottles of water so that you can keep hydrated.
Sun Cream and Sun Hats
Please feel free to use and wear these sun protections responsibly.
Yours faithfully

Adaptations due to Weather
In previous years we have adapted our uniform policy when summer weather conditions reached certain temperature thresholds. This ensured that students were able to learn in a safe and comfortable environment, whilst not compromising teaching & learning.
This summer term we have continued to monitor the weather and with the temperatures set to be particularly hot at the start of next week, we have decided to allow students to wear PE kit on Monday 22nd June, Tuesday 23rd June and Wednesday 24th June.
Students may still choose to wear normal uniform and the following will be acceptable:
• Students may choose to continue to wear school uniform
• Students may choose to wear normal uniform without a tie
• Students may choose to wear PE kit
• Please do not wear a combination of both school uniform and PE kit
Please can parents/carers ensure that students do not attempt to make any adjustments to their PE kit. I am grateful for your support with ensuring your son/daughter wears the appropriate PE kit. Hoodies, tracksuit tops or any other accessories will not be allowed.
Water - Please come to school with a least two full water bottles of water so that you can keep hydrated.
Sun Cream and Sun Hats -Please feel free to use and wear these sun protections responsibly.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will remain in contact over the coming days should there be any changes.
We anticipate a return to usual school uniform on Thursday 25th June. However, we will continue to monitor the forecast and share further updates if necessary.
Kind regards
St. Peter’s

A huge congratulation to our Under 13 girls cricket team who battled it out against a strong Maynard team this week.
The game was nail-biting and extremely close right down to the last over. Our tight fielding, superb teamwork, controlled bowling and outstanding batting allowed us to get over the line to our first victory over Maynard.
This team is also playing in the County finals next week and we wish them well.

Our D of E students have surpassed all previous amounts this year with their volunteering work.
The social value of their work came to an incredible £9421, more than double last year's total. A huge well done to all!
