Milbourne Lodge is a Pre-Prep and Prep School for boys and girls aged 4 to 13. Founded in 1912, the school has a long-standing tradition of preparing children for Common Entrance and Scholarship exams to the most prestigious and well known public schools. In the past 5 years alone
over 50 academic, art, music and sports scholarships have been won by our pupils. Our academic curriculum, taught by a

highly experienced and dedicated team of staff, is supported by excellent music, art & sports programmes, with games played every day. A strong emphasis is also placed on pastoral care and the school provides a warm and supportive environment in which each child feels valued and can flourish. Traditional values and standards are encouraged and prevail throughout the school. Milbourne Lodge is a very energetic school which provides endless opportunities and variety. Located in Esher, Surrey, the School is situated in over 8 acres of beautiful grounds within easy access of the A3 and M25.

Our Reception children loved their trip to Brooklands Transport Museum, exploring transport from the past to the present โ€“ from penny-farthing bikes and a 126-year-old car to planes, buses and electric vehicles.

A highlight was Concorde, learning it flies at 64,000 feet and that you can see the curvature of the Earth from above! ๐ŸŒ

We were delighted to welcome some very special grandparents into school last week. Mr Pim, a retired geophysicist, led a fantastic assembly sharing his expertise, alongside Mrs Pim, an ex-maths teacher, who helped bring the learning to life ๐Ÿ“โœจ

The excitement doesnโ€™t stop thereโ€ฆ Mr Pim will be back soon to run a โ€œGeology Clinicโ€, helping Year 3 identify and investigate different rocks ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿชจ

On Friday, our Reception children were thrilled to welcome Lauren, a pilot, who shared what life is really like in the skies. From the places sheโ€™s travelled to the aircraft she flies, questions were taking off!

The highlight? Trying on a real pilotโ€™s uniform and stepping into the captainโ€™s seat (via the flight deck ๐Ÿ“ธ), where the children even programmed their own names and dream destinations. Future pilots in the making! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โœˆ๏ธ

A huge congratulations to Alexander and Helen!

Alexander has been training at Cobham Fencing Club since the age of six and competes at county, regional, and national level. Over the years, heโ€™s built an impressive collection of medals, including gold at the U10 Surrey Youth Championships and the LPJS GB Challenge in 2025 ๐Ÿฅ‡

Helen is following in her big brotherโ€™s footsteps, also achieving gold at the Surrey Youth Championships โ€” a fantastic achievement for them both! ๐Ÿ‘
