🚂 Quest Activity Spotlight: Go on a train ride 🚂
Before I mention this activity, I just wanted to acknowledge the recent train crash and the heart breaking loss of the driver. My thoughts are with everyone affected. 💛
Out of respect, I wanted to gently widen this activity.
That could be:
🚂 sharing photos from a favourite train journey
🗺️ talking about where you travelled
🎟️ remembering a special trip
📚 or even reading stories about trains together
The joy of the quest has never been about doing things perfectly.
It’s about sparking curiosity, connectionnand meaningful conversations in a way that works for your family 💛

Using knowledge of finding the area to help move onto volume. Taking time to explore and learn the maths, so that the method makes sense.

I love taking on feedback about the Quests and making each one better than before!
Excited about the changes to come!

🦒 A belated Happy Giraffe Day! 🦒
This year it shared the spotlight with Father’s Day 💛 But always shares its day with summer solstice.
But I do have mixed feelings about the longest day of the year 😅
Part of me loves the long evenings, sunshine, and feeling like the day lasts forever.
But I also know that once we reach this point… minute by minute, the darker evenings start creeping back in.
And before we know it, summer feels like it’s racing away and winter is waiting in the wings ❄️
But here’s a fun fact…
Did you know Giraffe Day is celebrated on 21st June because it’s the longest day of the year… just like giraffes have long necks? 🦒✨
I actually think that’s quite brilliant.
And it feels like the perfect reminder that simple activities can lead to much deeper conversations.
One of this month’s quest begins with a simple hook:
🦒 build a model giraffe
But it can quickly grow into something much bigger…
🌍 Why are giraffe numbers declining?
🌿 What threats do they face?
💛 How can we help protect them?
Sometimes all it takes is one playful activity to spark curiosity, compassion, and a real love of learning.

A simple way to break down large numbers so that they are super easy for students to read.

Heatwave update:
If your child has a session booked this week and they are not coping with the heat, please feel free to cancel. No notice needed for this week.

Everything is good in moderation… right? 😅
Please tell me I’m not the only one who checks the dessert menu before deciding on the main! 😂
No shame. Priorities matter.
Since one of the quests is making a sugar-free dessert, I’m curious…
👇 What would be your go-to, must-have sugar-free dessert?
Bonus points if it actually tastes amazing and doesn’t just pretend to be dessert 👀🍓

Everybody loves a bargain. £14 for two hats. Not bad at all in my mind.
What's the best bargain you've had recently?

As a teacher it was always a meal deal or a school dinner.
Never been a packed lunch, sandwich type of person.
What's on your Friday lunch menu?
