🌿🚶‍♀️🚲 Car Free Day at The Vale! 🚲🚶‍♂️🌿
What a fantastic start to the day as our school community came together for another successful Car Free Day!
With the car park closed this morning, children, parents and staff embraced the opportunity to walk, scoot, cycle or take part in our Park and Stride initiative. The result was a calm, welcoming atmosphere around the school gates and a wonderful sense of community as families arrived together.
Led by our dedicated Travel Working Party, this initiative encourages healthy lifestyles, promotes cleaner air and supports children to be active before the school day begins. It also helps pupils understand how the choices we make can have a positive impact on both our local community and the wider environment.
We are incredibly proud of how our pupils have championed this initiative throughout the year. Today's event was a wonderful reflection of our school values, with children helping to create a healthier, safer and more sustainable future while demonstrating the strong sense of belonging that makes The Vale such a special place.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event—we loved seeing so many smiling faces on the journey to school! 💙🌍

🌞🧺 A Picnic to Celebrate Our Community! 💙
Today, the whole school came together for a very special picnic on the field – an idea that came directly from our pupils through the School Council.
The children wanted an opportunity for everyone to enjoy lunch together, celebrating the strong sense of community and belonging that makes The Vale such a special place. It was wonderful to see pupils from across the school sitting together, chatting, laughing and enjoying time with friends old and new.
At The Vale, we are proud to listen to pupil voice and act on the ideas that matter most to our children. Today's picnic was a perfect example of this in action. As well as being lots of fun, it helped to strengthen friendships, promote inclusion and create lasting memories for our school community.
A simple idea, but a powerful reminder that when children feel heard, valued and connected, they thrive. 💙🌳☀️

Year 3 Pizzeria Showcase! ✨🍕
What a fantastic way to round off the school year! Today, our Year 3 children welcomed parents to their very own Pizzeria Showcase, hosting and waiting on their guests with confidence, maturity and plenty of smiles.
Families enjoyed seeing the children's learning brought to life, while the children took great pride in sharing their achievements and demonstrating the skills they have developed throughout the year. From excellent teamwork and communication to outstanding hospitality, they truly rose to the occasion.
It was a wonderful celebration of all that Year 3 have accomplished this year, and we are incredibly proud of every child. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for such a special afternoon. 🍕🌟 GLF Schools

🌟 An Outstanding Achievement for The Vale! 🌟
We are incredibly proud to share that The Vale has been recognised for achieving an ‘Outstanding’ Travel Plan – a fantastic accomplishment that reflects the dedication and hard work of our whole school community.
It was a pleasure to welcome a special visitor this week to present the certificate in person and celebrate this success with us. 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️
This achievement highlights our commitment to promoting sustainable travel, healthy lifestyles, and environmental responsibility – values we are passionate about embedding across our school.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this possible, including our Travel Working Party made up of pupils, staff, parents and local councillors – your collective effort has truly made a difference. We look forward to continuing this work and building on our success in the year ahead.
