The Cygnets National Art Awards are back! 💥

Entries are now open for 2026 and this year’s theme is ‘Colours of The Rainbow’ 🌈

This competition is open to every child in the UK aged 5-18, and there is no requirement to be a Cygnets student! Best of all, it’s FREE 🎨🙌

✨ October Half Term Workshops are now live! ✨

Step into a world of ✨ Magic & Mischief ✨ this October at Cygnets Art School Epsom!

We’ll be creating four enchanting art projects, inspired by all things magical, mysterious and mischievous 🪄✨🧪

Tues 20th Oct:
10.30-12: Potion Bottle with Acrylic
12.30-2: ‘The Key to Anywhere’ with Printing

Tues 27th Oct:
10.30-12: ‘The Floating Carnival’ with Soft Pastels
12.30-2: ‘The Coyote Who Stole The Moon’ with Gouache

🎨 Suitable for all abilities, children aged 5-12

Today we had our fourth and final Summer Holiday Workshop which was all about Tokyo✌🏼

In our morning session our students created stunning artwork of Mount Fuji using Watercolour🗻, and in the afternoon, we used Acrylic paint and pictured ourselves in Tokyo setting off Lanterns 🤩🏮🇯🇵

As always, we are SO proud of all of our students who joined us at any of the eight sessions over the past week🥰👏🏻 A huge thank you to our lovely students, parents and families for supporting us 🙏 We hope you all loved the classes and hope to see you in class again soon!🦢🧡

We now have a short break for the rest of summer holidays, but will be back in September for a fantastic new project - Safari Adventures! 🐘🐯🐆🦁 we have a limited amount of spaces left in our Saturday class, come and join us!

Week 2 Day 1 of our Summer Holiday Workshops - ‘Cities Around The World’ 💥✅

Another new city explored today: Mexico!💃🏻

In our morning session we recreated a Lucha Libre Mask using printing ink & foam, and we learnt different facts about these native famous masks 🎭

After lunch, we used charcoal to make these fantastic Avocado’s🥑🖤 the students had a real avocado in front of them (still life) so they could really take in the detail, shape, size & form 🥑✏️

Last day of our Summer Workshops tomorrow, which is all about Tokyo! 🗼🇯🇵

Day 2 of our Summer Holiday Workshops - ‘Cities Around The World’ 💥✅

Today we went to a new city, down under in Sydney! 👇🏻🌍

First up we used Clay (kids fave!) to make these cute Kangaroos🥰🦘, followed by Sydney Opera House using Fineliner & Ink ✍🏼🎭

We’ve had a fantastic first week of classes - we always have lots of fun with our students 🦢

We still have spaces available for our classes next week (Tues 4th & Weds 5th): Tokyo & Mexico 🇯🇵🇲🇽 - come and join us!

Day 1 of our Summer Holiday Workshops - ‘Cities Around The World’ 💥✅

Our students recreated the Empire State Building using Soft Pastels and then New York’s famous Yellow Taxi using Gouache✏️🎨🫟

First term complete at our second after-school club✅ Monday Club: thank you! 🥰

To have a full class within a week of launching here is a proud moment, and we have loved getting to know each student and watching their art develop each week!

We explored the Coral Reef and introduced mediums such as oil pastels, charcoal, printing with ink, watercolour and drawing inks 🎨🖌️

& that’s a wrap for at our Thursday after-school club for summer term! 🥹🌞

The first time this group has used Dip Pen & Ink 🤩✍🏼🖋️ and how fantastic are the results!

Students replicated a Coyote using dip pen with ink which required precision, patience, and concentration, with students carefully controlling the pen. The fine nib work allows the intricate textures of the coyote’s fur and facial features to be captured in finer detail.

We have so much fun with our students. One of my favourite parts about my role is building relationships with the children 🥰

Penultimate class in our first term at our Monday after school club ✨

I love that the students always assume we’re going to be using colour - paint, inks, watercolours etc… nope, not this time!

Using only HB & 6B pencils, the children sketched a starfish & the finer details 🤌🏻
