Watch this 🤣🤣 Come and join me for 'Mums Coffee club' online with mums from all over the world!

Our monthly ā€˜Mums coffee club’ is a chance to focus on your own well being for a change, to laugh and chat amongst other like minded mums whilst supporting each other and having a place to share our stories. This session is aimed at parents of newborn to 3 years old. Your little one might be napping or playing in the background (or in the foreground in some cases) but we will go with the flow and enjoy each others company in a supportive, non-judgemental setting.

Next sessions are:
Thursday 19th May 1.15-1.45pm (FREE)
Thursday 9th June 1.15-1.45pm
āļø SPACES ARE LIMITED āļø
Book now to avoid disappointment:
bit.ly/earlyyearssandra

We will begin the conversation with a funny MUMLIFE meme and see where the conversation takes us. Topics covered will include; baby sleep, weaning & what to cook, how to juggle life and a little one, there is no such thing as a 'perfect' mum and much more... The session is all about you smiling and not feeling alone. Mums are stronger together, so let's all support each other!

I also offer 1:1 sessions to support mums with their questions around weaning, baby sleep, learning development, potty training, behaviour and much more... Send me a message if you would like more information, I would love to support you on your journey as a mother.

Should you intervene in your toddler’s play? Watch this…Your little one will often have purpose behind their play and what they are doing even when it isn’t what the specific toy is meant for. Open ended tasks often encourage the best learning and develops their thinking skills.

TRY THESE STEPS:
āļø Allow them time to explore in the ways they choose to with their toys.
āļø If they are engrossed in play and not looking up, don’t interrupt or talk to them…give them thinking time as this is when their brain is processing and forming connections.
āļø If they look at you, it may be that they want you to join in…so join in and talk about what you are playing with.
āļø Begin to show them different ways to play with the toy.
āļø They may then choose to copy you or find a new way of playing with it.
āļø Take their lead and copy what they are doing, talking about what you are doing to build language and conversation skills.

Before your little one can speak, they often use a whining cry to let you know they want something….This is not an emotional cry in the same form as being upset.

They may try to climb up you to get you to pick them up and again this is often because they want your attention, often at the most inconvenient times and they are getting heavy now too right? We can’t just walk around carrying them all the time. So…

Try a distraction tool of going over to one of their toys and starting to play with it…they will quickly change their emotion and likely join in with you.

If they don’t, then the likelihood is that they are genuinely upset and need a cuddle 🄰

For more tips to encourage positive behaviours come along to one of my local workshops or you can download my 20minute ā€˜Encouraging positive behaviours’ workshop on the website.

Poor focus & attention often comes from too many toys to choose from and over stimulation.

Try to keep your play space organised and sectioned into areas and make sure to change the toys over every 2-3days to keep your little ones engaged and excited to learn new things.
