🌿 Knight of Pentacles 🌿

Traditionally, the Knight of Pentacles is the steady one. While other knights race ahead chasing excitement, recognition, or glory, the Knight understands that the most meaningful things in life are built slowly. This is the card of patience, dedication, and showing up day after day, even when nobody is watching.

Here at Wicked Waters, our Knight of Pentacles is a woman walking beside a magnificent fairy horse. She isn’t rushing toward a finish line, and she isn’t looking over her shoulder to see what everyone else is doing. She is simply moving forward, one step at a time, trusting that every step has purpose.

I think that’s a lesson many of us need to hear.

We live in a world that constantly tells us to do more, be more, achieve more, and somehow do it all faster than the day before. We scroll through social media and see everyone’s highlights while quietly wondering if we’re doing enough ourselves. Are we working hard enough? Are we successful enough? Are we far enough along in our journey?

The Knight of Pentacles gently reminds us that growth is not a race.

The garden does not bloom overnight.

The tree does not become mighty in a single season.

The harvest does not arrive the day after the seed is planted.

Everything worthwhile takes time.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply keep going.

Keep learning.

Keep growing.

Keep believing in ourselves when the results are not yet visible.

And while we’re doing that, let’s remember something equally important. We were never meant to walk this path alone.

Somewhere along the way, women were taught that there are only a few seats at the table and that we must compete with one another to claim them. But nature doesn’t work that way. Forests thrive because their roots are connected beneath the soil. Wildflowers don’t refuse to bloom because another flower is already beautiful. Rivers don’t stop flowing because another stream found its way to the sea.

Nature understands something we sometimes forget.

There is room for all of us.

There is room for your dream and mine.

There is room for your success and mine.

There is room for your voice and mine.

When we encourage another woman instead of competing with her, we all grow stronger. When we celebrate another woman’s success instead of comparing it to our own, we create more light in the world. When we offer support, kindness, and understanding, we become part of something far greater than ourselves.

The Knight of Pentacles reminds us that abundance isn’t something we take from one another.

It’s something we create together.

So if you’re feeling discouraged today, keep taking that next step. If you’re building something beautiful, keep going. If you’re carrying a dream in your heart that nobody else can see yet, trust it.

The seeds you plant today may take time to bloom, but they are growing nonetheless.

And while you’re walking your own path, don’t forget to reach back and help another woman forward.

Because when women lift each other up, there is no limit to what we can grow together. 🌿💚✨

WHEN THE BISON BOWS BENEATH THE MOON

She places her hand upon the bison’s forehead,
not as one who owns a spirit,
but as a child returning home
to touch the old doorway of Mother Earth.

The night opens wide behind them,
the golden moon hanging low
like the silent drum of the sky.
Butterflies pass through the light,
fragile,
yet carrying the reminder
that even small things can guide
hearts that have lost their way.

The bison stands there,
large as the memory of the grasslands,
deep as thunder sleeping beneath the earth.
In its dark fur
live the shadows of many winds,
many vanished footprints,
many songs
once carried beside evening fires.

She does not speak.
The bison does not speak.
Between them there is only breath,
and that breath is enough
to quiet the forest,
enough to make the stars
lean down and listen.

Some strengths
do not need to be raised high.
Some sorrows
do not need to become words.
Some peoples,
though pushed through many storms,
still carry within the heart
a seed that refuses to die.

She understands
that healing is not forgetting loss.
Healing is remembering
without letting memory turn the spirit
into cold ash.
It is bowing before the past,
then rising again
with hands still gentle enough
to touch life.

The bison bows beneath the moon,
not in surrender,
but because it recognizes
a heart learning again
the language of earth,
of wind,
of grass growing after fire.

And when moonlight covers them
like an ancestral blanket,
the night whispers through the wildflowers:

Whoever still honors the breath of all living beings
will never lose the road home.
For Mother Earth always remembers
the names of her children
who walk with gratitude.

One of the greatest misunderstandings on the spiritual path is the belief that we can become disconnected from Spirit. People often say, “I feel disconnected,” or “I have lost my connection.” But from a shamanic perspective, this is not actually what is happening. You are never separate from Spirit.
You are always in relationship with the unseen forces that guide, support, and walk with you. That connection does not disappear. What changes is our awareness.

We live in a world that constantly pulls our attention outward. Our minds become busy, our thoughts become loud, and we begin to listen more to the noise of the outer world than to the quiet voice within.
