Is your child starting pre-school or primary school this September? 🎒
There are lots of simple ways you can help your child feel ready and confident for starting school.
💬 Talk together about what their new school or setting might be like before they start. This can help ease worries and build excitement.
📖 Why not visit your local library and let your child choose a book that interests them? Sharing stories together helps children feel content, secure and confident, while also supporting important language and communication skills.
Remember, you don’t have to read every word! Looking at the pictures, talking about the story and asking questions are all great ways to enjoy books together.

💙🤍 And just like that… their primary school journey comes to an end. 💙🤍
It feels like only yesterday our Primary 7 pupils first walked through the doors of Jones Memorial Primary School, full of curiosity, excitement and a few nervous smiles.
Over the years, they have grown into confident, caring and resilient young people. They have shared countless laughs, created unforgettable memories, overcome challenges and celebrated many achievements together. The friendships they have built and the experiences they have shared will stay with them for years to come.
As they prepare to leave the JMPS family and begin their secondary school journey, we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved. They will always be a part of our school community, and we know they have bright futures ahead.
Good luck, Primary 7. Keep believing in yourselves, be kind, work hard and never stop aiming high.
Once part of the Jones Memorial family… always part of the Jones Memorial family. 💙💛

💙🤍 A Memorable Farewell for Our Primary 7 Class 💙🤍
Last week, we gathered as a whole school community to celebrate our wonderful Primary 7 pupils at their Leavers’ Assembly – a very special occasion filled with pride, laughter and a few happy tears.
The assembly featured heartfelt speeches, special awards and treasured photographs as we reflected on the many memories made throughout our pupils’ time at Jones Memorial Primary School. A real highlight of the afternoon was a wonderful performance by John Garritty, which made the celebration even more memorable.
Each Primary 7 pupil was proudly presented with their Record of Achievement, recognising their hard work, growth and accomplishments during their years at JMPS. We hope it will serve as a lasting reminder of the friendships, experiences and achievements that have shaped their primary school journey.
As they prepare to begin the next exciting chapter, we wish every one of our Primary 7 pupils every success and happiness. Remember, wherever life takes you, you will always have a place at Jones Memorial Primary School.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our families for your continued support over the years and to our dedicated staff, whose care, encouragement and commitment have helped every child flourish.
Once JMPS, always JMPS. 💙🤍
🎳🎉 What a fantastic day our Primary 7 pupils have had! 🎉🎳
As they prepare to say goodbye to Jones Memorial Primary School, our P7 children enjoyed a very special end-of-year celebration with a delicious meal, a fun-filled game of bowling and, most importantly, plenty of laughter with friends.
It was the perfect opportunity to celebrate all they have achieved together and create memories that will last a lifetime before they begin their exciting journey to secondary school.
We are so proud of each and every one of them and know they have bright futures ahead. Thank you for being such a wonderful year group—you will always be part of the Jones Memorial family. 💛💙
Good luck, P7! Keep believing in yourselves, work hard, be kind and never stop aiming high. We can’t wait to see all that you achieve.
