I can't believe it was ten years ago this month that I took the leap into self employment. I couldn't have done it without people (mostly women) believing in me, mentoring me and coming to my workshops. I always aim to empower people by connecting them to their innate creativity. I create safe spaces for people to explore & play. But the reality is that the world isn't a safe place for everyone and violence against women & girls is alarmingly common. I wanted to do something to support women in my community so I'm raffling three of my beautifully hand crafted artworks with all proceeds going to Women's Aid Fermanagh.

🌍 Applications Now Open | Geopark Youth Ambassador Programme 2026/27 🌍

Are you aged 18-24 and passionate about nature, the outdoors, climate action, heritage, or making a difference in your community?

We're looking for potential Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark Youth Ambassadors to join an exciting programme of adventure, learning, personal development and environmental action.

As a Youth Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to:
✅ Explore the landscapes, heritage and geology of the Geopark
✅ Take part in unique outdoor experiences and training opportunities
✅ Learn from experts and local organisations
✅ Meet like-minded young people from across the region
✅ Help shape the future of youth engagement within the Geopark

Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a Geopark Youth Ambassador Forum, with two ambassadors representing Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark on the Landscapes NI Youth Forum.

The programme is supported by Landscapes NI and funded by Action Renewables NI.

Join me for a creative and mindful afternoon in the heart of the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark. We will sustainably forage for natural materials in the beautiful surroundings of Marble Arch Caves and weave them into our own circular loom, creating a unique piece of nature-inspired artwork.

Along the way, staff from Marble Arch Caves will share fascinating insights into the cave system beneath your feet, helping you discover more about one of the Geopark’s most remarkable natural features.

This relaxing workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and unleash your creativity while creating a special keepsake to take home.

We had so much fun yesterday at Cavan Burren Park
foraging for flowers and fruit to extract pigments for painting. We also made our own brushes from sticks and grasses, heather & pine branches which we agreed looked like fairy brushes! Participants said it was relaxing, grounding and surprising and were amazed at the range of colours we got by adding lemon juice and bicarb. Many took pigments home to experiment in their sketchbooks.

It was my first workshop for a while as an ambassador for Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark and it was so enjoyable to provide an eco friendly creative opportunity. I have another one on September 19th, Natural Weaving where we will forage at Marble Arch Caves, Marlbank, Florencecourt, Enniskillen and weave into circular looms. Look out for posts advertising that one if it sounds like something you would like. 😊

PS. I know you don't do PS on here but I'm ould school so...if you hear me repeatedly saying 'Tumble Dryer' in the video it's because we were discussing ph neutral water to mix with the flowers or leaves to create the pigments (acidic or alkaline water/soft or hard water will alter the colour) and no one was listening to me saying the the water collected in your tumpble dryer is pure H2O and free and PH neutral! 😂
