🎻✨ TradAcad are absolutely delighted to welcome the extremely talented fiddle player Lydia Warnock to the team!
And how the tables have turned… 💛
Many moons ago, Lydia and the Maguire’s (Maggie, Chris and Lorena) learned their music together in a wee room in Ballyshannon, under the guidance of the very talented teacher Seamus Sweeney. For years and years, our parents ran the roads to festivals, Fleadhs and music lessons, while Seamus passed on not only the tunes, but a real love for the tradition.
Now, all these years later, we are all teaching under the same roof at TradAcad — passing on the tradition that was given to us and so deeply instilled in us by Seamus. 🎶 Lydia is a graduate of both the University of Limerick and Trinity College Dublin. Lydia is a Senior All-Ireland Fiddle Slow Airs Champion and Senior All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, as well as a winner of the prestigious Fiddler of Dooney title. ✨🎻
She is also a member of The Blackwater Céilí Band, who became Senior All-Ireland Champions in 2018, and has travelled extensively performing both as a solo musician and with various ensembles. 👌🏻👏🏻
Lydia will be running our Advanced Fiddle Class this year and also has a limited number of one-to-one, two-to-one and three-to-one fiddle lesson slots available. 🎻
