Today the Latymer community is celebrating World Book Day with gusto! Many students and staff are dressed in their favourite book character, with two winners picked per year (example below of Fatema and Charlotte in Year 10 – well done both).
Our student Reading Ambassadors are out in full force, promoting the huge benefits of reading, and elected the winners of the ‘Latymer Read Anywhere’ challenge. We are also celebrating the many wonderful authors in our alumni network, with a 2nd feature article on Latymer Links. And much more throughout the day for and from all our year groups.
At the same time, the construction of the huge library extension is going well and we look forward to celebrating World Book Day 2027 in its space!

Season’s Greetings from all of us at the Latymer School!
As 2025 draws to a close and the festive season kicks in, we have been reflecting on some truly special moments from the year, both at school and within our community. Our Senior Choir joined in the Christmas cheer with their annual Trafalgar Square carol service this week. Singing in front of a large audience on the steps of the National Gallery, our students spread joy and warmth to all present then, and to our online community now.
We’d like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year and wish you a very restful and joyous festive season, and a happy New Year!

Both roles have tremendous impact on the school’s curriculum, teaching and learning programme and students’ achievements and development. You will be innovative & strategic and understand the balance of retaining our heritage whilst striving to help the school to continue to progress forward.

The annual Dolbe-Keats Bazaar is taking place this Friday 5th December in the Great Hall at lunchtime. This tradition is hosted by pupils in Dolbe and Keats houses across all year groups and aims to raise as much money as possible for the chosen House Charities. This year we have a record 36 different stalls which will be run, ranging from sweet and cake stalls to game stalls of all kinds!

All pupils are invited along, and we encourage them to take part and help us raise money for good causes. Please be aware that as we are a cashless school, stalls will not have change available at the beginning of the bazaar and so we encourage pupils to bring in loose change (no notes can be accepted) to make paying easier. Some pupils may wish to pay with card and a member of staff with a card reader will be available for some of the bazaar.

Thank you for your support with this event and look out for a review in the upcoming parent newsletter!

A generous former Latymerian has stepped up and will double every donation made, up to £11,000!
Smartboards have become an essential tool, helping teachers deliver a more interactive, engaging experience. Smartboards also enhance engagement and participation but also better prepare students for a technology-rich world.
