🎆🌟🎆 We hope you have a happy and safe bonfire night! 🎆🌟🎆
Stay safe and remember to keep children safe by always having an adult supervise when there are fireworks nearby, have children stand well back from lit fireworks and a bonfire, and get them to wear gloves when holding a sparkler.

This (National Children's Day UK 2022) we are celebrating . ♥️
Our encourage independence across all areas of learning and development, and our philosophy of ‘Nurture, Care, Inspire’ in all our settings teaches the importance of and the value of care and respect for others.
We do this through talking about our emotions and feelings; our children have ‘kind hands’, ‘listening ears’, and ‘walking feet’. We also celebrate diversity to help children feel confident and empowered to be who they want to be.
Tell us how you ? ♥️

This month, our theme is and we have our top 5 tips to support children’s wellbeing to share with you. ♥️
1. Encourage independence and let children plan and help prepare one meal with you a week.
2. Use positive emotional language to help children understand their feelings. Children who are able to use emotional language are generally happier as they have the tools to problem solve and regulate their feelings.
3. Be active and make time for outdoor exploration, allowing children to explore, discover, climb and run. This encourages development of large motor skills and wellbeing. Why not build an obstacle course together or make a den and have a picnic? Gardening is another great why to enjoy the outdoors and encourage mental wellbeing.
4. Create opportunity for mindful moments together. Are there spaces in your setting/home where your child (and or you) can lay back and relax, daydream or read a story? You can even practice yoga and breathing techniques to help children feel grounded.
5. Get creative and give children the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of materials and mark-making tools. Creativity should be about enjoying the activity and not about having a finished product. Being creative and having fun, such as messy play, singing and dancing, can release positive endorphins to help support feeling good.

How do you inspire other women? I inspire and empower other women by being someone that they can confide in and talk to. I'd like to say I'm able to voice concerns that other women may have if they don't have the confidence to do so, however I would try and encourage them to do this themselves.

Early Years - World Book Day
What shall I read? 📚
Oliver Nathan, Childcare Specialist and Mental Health Lead at Family First Nurseries has recommended his for adults, called ‘Song of Achilles’ by Madeline Miller. It is an incredibly well written take on the Greek mythological story of Achilles but through the eyes of Patroclus. Oliver says, “It’s the perfect mix between a romance and a war novel and it makes me cry every time I read it!”
For children he recommends ‘Sometimes I Like To Curl Up In A Ball’ by Charles Fuge and Vicki Churchill. It’s about a little wombat and all of the fun things he likes to do! But by the end of the day what he likes best is to find somewhere safe and cosy and small, and that’s where he likes to curl up in a ball.
There are also several reading recommendations for early years on the World Book Day website, identifying for each of the key areas in a classroom.
Or why not send us your own recommendations?
