What an amazing 2026 Southbury Sports Day! 🤩 Well done to all our wonderful students for their amazing effort, behaviour and sportsmanship 🏅 & to our amazing parents who joined in the festivities and the parent races! What a fantastic day and community we have ❤️

Year 1 had a wonderful trip to Hertfordshire Zoo. They loved seeing all the animals, the dinosaurs and having their packed lunch! 🦖🦊🐯🐆🦥🐧

The children in Year 1 have been learning about money in maths 💷 Recognising coins, notes and eventually being able to find equal amounts of both coins and notes! ✅

In Science this week, Year 3 began their new unit on Light and Dark 🌕🌑 The children learned about different light sources and explored the difference between natural light sources, such as the Sun, and artificial light sources, such as lamps and torches 🔦 They also discussed the differences between light and dark and how light helps us to see the world around us 👀⭐️

Groups 1 and 2 have completed their first activity of the day. 'Nightline' involves the children wearing blindfolds and communicating with each other to complete an obstacle course! 👀😱

The Year 6 children who remained at school had a lovely time at forty hall yesterday 🌳 They went on a nature walk, played in the play area, enjoyed a game of rounders before finishing off the day with an ice cream 🍦

Year 6 enjoyed their next challenge of getting to the top of the climbing wall. Not everyone made it to the top but everyone tried their best 💪🏼

Chocolate brownies for dessert tonight before we start the campfire 🍫🔥

Groups 1 and 2 are taking part in target sports - archery and axe throwing! They are having lots of fun trying to hit the targets 🎯⛏️🎉

Group 2 are enjoying their first activity of problem solving 🗺️They are having to work together to solve a number of different challenges 💭
