What a fantastic first week back our little Honeybees 🐝 have had 😊

We’ve started the new term off with an all about me topic, the children have all enjoyed the activities that have been on offer to them. We’ve explored the play dough with Mr Potato head where the children could make the shape of their face with the play dough and then chose the Potato head features they wanted for their face using the mirrors to see what colour eyes they had.

The children have also drawn themselves on paper, whilst drawing there was lots of discussions about how many eyes, nose, mouth and ears you have, there was also discussions about hair colours and hair lengths, the children then talked about who had the same colour eyes or hair as them.

We’ve made our faces out of the laminated pancakes and food for our features.

The children have also enjoyed exploring the garden, they have all worked together as a team to build a car using our loose part and construction objects, this was lovely to see them all working together so nicely and watch them problem solve.

The children have also played in the sand and enjoyed washing the babies today in the water. Our Honeybees 🐝 children have helped settle in our new starters and we’re so proud of how helpful and kind they’ve been towards them 😊

This week we had our ladybird bingo out which the children loved , taking turns rolling the dice and matching the numbers. In our tuff trays this week we had our car wash , toys in ice with hammers and also our sea creatures in water ( to try and keep cool). The children also had a chance to make their own pictures using lots of resources.

We would like to wish all our school leavers the very best in their new adventures at school. You will be missed at Honeybees , and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 1st September.

This week the children have enjoyed exploring different activities in our class room role-play, which have ranged from stencil work, matching shape pictures and talking about the different size shapes we had, drawing shape people and talking about the different features people have, cutting activities and threading to continue to develop our fine motor skills.

We’ve explored lots of sensory trays such as shaving foam, moon sand, pasta and lentils and play-dough.

We’ve also explored colour mixing with the paint and made some symmetrical butterflies 🦋

The children have really enjoyed our range of puppets which we’ve brought into our story time and they’ve all had a turn with our song props.

Last but not least the Honeybees 2026 school leavers had their graduation party and ceremony, they all had a great time at soft play! We’d like to thank all the parents/carers that attended the ceremony to celebrate this occasion with the children.
