We support each child’s individual needs to help them learn and grow by providing them with time, space and inspiring resources to thrive in a happy and positive environment. We also work with parents to ensure mutual support in caring for their child. Our expectations and clear, achievable boundaries encourage positive behaviour so that children will be courteous to one another, enabling them to make good friends and develop empathy. We endeavour to look at things from the child’s point of view, to emphasise with them and allow them to achieve their own identity. The children had a very exciting visit from the Ambulance Service. They were delighted to welcome the paramedics and learn all about the important work they do to help people in the community.

The children enjoyed exploring the ambulance and were given the opportunity to sit inside, where they learned about some of the equipment used during emergencies. The paramedics explained their role in a child-friendly way, answering questions and helping the children understand how they care for people when they are unwell or injured.

Following the children's interests, we created a gardening activity in which we explored a variety of herbs and seasonings. Together, we discussed their different smells, textures, and how adding seasonings to food can change its taste and flavour.

The children enjoyed learning about seeds and how they grow into plants. We talked about what plants need to thrive, including sunlight, water, and care, and the children helped to plant their own seeds. We also explored the life cycle of plants and flowers, discussing how they grow from seeds and eventually produce new seeds of their own.

As part of our discussion, we learned about the important role that bees play in pollination and how they help plants and flowers reproduce and grow. The children were engaged and curious throughout the activity, developing their understanding of nature, growth, and the environment through hands-on learning. 🌱🐝🌼

This morning, our Pre-School children enjoyed an exciting trip on the minibus to Dell Quay! 🌿☀️

After arriving, the children eagerly hopped off the bus and headed to the office room, where they enjoyed a lovely picnic snack together. Once everyone was refreshed, they set off on a scenic walk along the riverside and through the forest.

Armed with magnifying pots provided by the staff, the children became little explorers, searching for bugs and other fascinating creatures to observe up close. They were full of curiosity and excitement as they discovered the wonders of nature around them.

The outing was a fantastic success, with lots of smiles, exploration, and learning along the way. The children couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed their adventure! 🍃🐞🚌

Chichester Harbour Conservancy works with visiting schools and colleges, enabling children and young people to learn about the natural environment of the coast. Emma from our Preschool room visited some amazing animals whilst on her holiday to Tenerife! 🦁🐒🦜

The children really enjoy seeing what the team get up to on their holidays, as it helps to spark conversations, encourages curiosity about the world around them, and supports their understanding of different places and experiences.

The children loved looking at Emma’s photos and hearing all about the fascinating animals she met during her adventures. We can't wait to hear about everyone else's holiday experiences too! 🌍✨

Another fabulous visit from Mill Cottage Farm Experience! 🐑🐐🐇

They visit us twice a year, and the children absolutely love meeting and learning about the animals. It's always such a wonderful hands-on experience, giving the children the opportunity to interact with a variety of friendly animals while discovering more about how to care for them and where they come from.
