🏫 Welcome back to Wilds Lodge!

It’s been lovely to welcome our learners back today and reconnect after the summer break. For some, returning to school can feel exciting; for others, a change in routine and the transition back can take a little more time - and that’s okay. We’re here to support each learner, at their own pace, as they settle back into familiar routines and reconnect with the people around them.

And while we’re looking ahead to the new academic year, we also have a special birthday to celebrate. Over the summer, our wonderful mentor dog Suva turned 5! 🎂

He’s loved catching up with everyone today and hearing all about what you’ve been up to over the summer, and he’s looking forward to hearing plenty more! 🐾💬

But there’s one thing Suva is just as excited about as we are… the possibilities that this new academic year holds.

So, let’s get started. Bring on 2026/27!

We’re so proud of you, Sally ✈️👏

Sally has officially completed her incredible wing walk challenge! Taking to the skies and doing something very much outside of her comfort zone, she has raised vital funds and awareness for MND Association.

What an amazing achievement! It takes a huge amount of courage to take on a challenge like this, and Sally has certainly shown what it means to be brave and step outside of your comfort zone. 🛩️

A huge thank you to Cavendish Education for supporting Sally throughout this incredible challenge and helping to make it possible. Their support has played a part in helping Sally raise vital awareness and funds for the MND Association, supporting those affected by MND and the important work towards better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. 💙

We’re proud to be part of the Cavendish Education family of schools, where supporting people to overcome challenges, achieve their potential and make a positive difference is at the heart of what we do.

And thank you to everyone who has supported Sally along the way, whether through donations, sharing her fundraising journey or simply offering words of encouragement. Together, you’ve helped raise over £2,000 and counting for the MND Association! 💙👏

🛩️ Just 4 days to go! 🛩️

Sally is officially in the final countdown to her wing walk, taking on a challenge very much outside her comfort zone to raise money for the MND Association.

At Wilds Lodge, we know that being brave isn’t about having no fear - it’s about giving something your best, even when it takes you outside your comfort zone.

If you’d like to support Sally in her fundraising journey, there’s still time to donate or share her fundraising page. Every little bit helps!

Good luck, Sally. You’ve got this! 👏😱✈️

On 22nd August, Sally, one of our Senior Leadership Team members, will be taking on a challenge that is well and truly outside of her comfort zone… a wing walk! 😱

Yes, you read that right - Sally will be strapped to the top of a moving plane and taking to the skies! ✈️

Sally is taking on this incredible challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for MND Association, helping to support those affected by MND and contribute towards research for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Thanks to the support of those around her, including Cavendish Education who have kindly covered the cost of the wing walk, Sally is ready to take on this challenge and make a difference.

At Wilds Lodge School, we are passionate about encouraging our learners to be brave, resilient, and willing to step outside of their comfort zones. Sally’s challenge is a fantastic example of this, and so is the way we come together as a community to support one another and make a difference. 💙

If you have a few spare pennies and would like to support Sally’s fundraising journey, please consider donating or sharing this post if you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated with how Sally gets on! 🛩️

☀️ A little sunshine, lots of fun!

As part of our transition activities, our primary learners enjoyed a range of cool outdoor stations in the garden to help them stay comfortable, have fun and spend time together.

We know that warmer weather and changes in routine can feel different for everyone, so it was lovely to create a space where learners could take part in activities at their own pace and enjoy the sunshine in a way that worked for them.

A lovely evening walk for our Loft boarders last night 🐾🌿

The group headed out with Ember, one of our school dogs, for some fresh air and a bit of exploring around the beautiful surroundings at Wilds Lodge. They even came across a few friendly faces along the way! 🐄

Every young person deserves to feel accepted, valued and like they belong.

At Wilds Lodge School, we know how important that sense of belonging is, and the positive impact it can have on confidence, friendships and learning.

🎬 This short film shares why belonging matters, through the voices of young people themselves. We hope you enjoy watching.
